CharacterBuilderUpdater has stopped working

Feb 08, 2009 8:26:55		When I start the program, I get this message from Windows (Vista, I'll be damned...)

CharacterBuilderUpdater has stopped working
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.
Windows wll close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

what can I do?

Feb 08, 2009 15:45:10 		I'm having the same issue. I was able to load it on Friday on a Laptop I had to return. Today, I get the same error as the the original poster. Help!

Feb 08, 2009 18:35:47 		A possible workaround is to go to your installation directory and make a new shortcut to CharacterBuilder.exe. This bypasses the updater. At the very least, it will let you know if it is just a problem with the updated.

Once you try that, please contact Customer Service about the issue.

Default installation directory: C:\Program Files\Wizards of the Coast\Character Builder\
