#1 klonewarrior Oct 03, 2009 10:10:56	I am going to be running the Scales of War campaign arc in the next couple of weeks. I will be setting it in Forgotten Realms (entirely due to FR players guide I found here...which is just awesome), and was wondering what peoples thoughts were on using the Forgotten Realms Players Guide regional bonuses with the Characters of War backgrounds. Im plan on possibly limiting the players to just a few regions: Gray Vale, Luruar, Cormyr, and  Waterdeep. That is unless a player can come up with a great backstory to why thier character is from say Thay, or Calmishan oranother far away place. Do you think that it would provide too much of a bonus? Thanks for any input.
#2 jffdougan Oct 03, 2009 15:09:53	FWIW, I believe the RAW allow you to select any number of backgrounds, but to get the mechanical benefit from only one of them. IOW, you could select both a FR Region and a Characters of War, but you only get one perk. By comparison to later backgrounds, the FR region benefits are overpowered. Those from Characters of War are also a bit on the high side, but less so than the FR ones.
