Apr 02, 2009 20:37:04 So, I've tried doing all of the things listed in the stickied thread and I'm still having an issue so I figured I'd ask this question out here...

I'm installing Charbuilder on a new PC. I'm able to get the product to install successfully, however that is where I start to run into issues. Upon launching the program, it should check for updates. One of two things happens at this point--1) the program just hangs looking for updates or 2) it identifies that an update is needed, let's me go through the selection process to update it and then hangs on the download. If I cancel when #1 happens, the program closes. If I cancel when #2 happens, it comes back with a message that the updates servers are undergoing maintenance and to come back later. I started getting that message yesterday.

So, my question is thus: is there currently an issue with the update servers or is there another problem going on here? If there is another problem, any ideas what it could be? I've installed and uninstalled the program several times.

I have exactly the same issues:
either it says I have no updates available, or it just sits in download doing nothing.

I hope someone responds with a solution...

Yes to both. However, I've been able to successfully update on another PC previously through the same firewall and proxy previously.

EDIT: Actually, let me be a bit clearer on this. I've tried this from three different networks on this PC. All three have firewalls, one has a proxy server. I haven't been able to get it to work on this laptop on any of the three networks. I've previously been able to update other PCs from all three networks.

Apr 03, 2009 10:56:06 I see in the App.config there are Proxy related settings... No GUI to adjust these? Can WotC tell us how to populate them to put in proxy settings?
