| #1klekticistJul 28, 2011 2:40:16 | I'm running Mac OSX 10.6.7 Snow Leopard. Safari 5. I launch the Character Builder, waiting for Silverlight to load, only to get a blank white screen. This has occurred on multiple Macintosh machines. Our Windows machine runs it perfectly fine. I suspect it may be an issue with Silverlight and OSX. Any ideas? Similar Issues? If this is a widespread issue, I hope it gets resolved soon. Best regards. |
| #2virtuhallJul 28, 2011 7:10:15 | I'm having the same issue. Mac OSX 10.7 Lion in my case. Attempted in both Safari 5.1 and Firefox 5.0 |
| #3piruettAug 07, 2011 4:29:37 | I have a MacBook Pro running OSX Lion (but I had the same problem using Snow Leopard). I get stuck on the "Please Wait. Loading Data"-screen forever. ![]() The hour glass spinns but nothing happens. I experience the same thing using Safari 5.1, Firefox 3.6 and Chrome 13. I have Silverlight 4.0 installed. |
| #4piruettAug 09, 2011 6:52:11 | Discovery! This is only a problem for gamers with non-English versions of OSX. Solution: Go to System Preferences - Language & text - Formats and change "Region" to English-US. Ta-da! |
| #5DaphneDianeSep 10, 2011 16:13:33 | Discovery! This is only a problem for gamers with non-English versions of OSX. Seeing the same blank screen. I tried changing my language from Custom ( I had date set to: YYYY-MM-DD and Time to 24 hours ) back to "United States" and still get the blank window. |
| #6dylansfSep 11, 2011 0:49:48 | Character Builder was running fine on my iMac w/ OSX 10.5.8 all day until an unexpected power outage. After I restarted the computer and tried to re-open the web interface, I get the same blank screen being described above. I have an English version of OSX. |
| #7vuuSep 11, 2011 22:49:35 | If you're encountering issues with Silverlight or Flash applications on MacOS try starting Firefox in 32bit mode. See www.phil.im/2011/03/27/how-to-start-fire... or forums.macresource.com/read.php?1,114245... Hope that helps. Cheers! |
| #8EnaloindirSep 16, 2011 9:07:23 | Same problems here: stuck on the white screen after watching the counter go to 100%. I'm using OSX 10.7 and Safari 5.1/Firefox 6.0.2/Chrome 14.0.835.162. What I've tried:
Nothing works so far. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks! |
| #9RobinInSeoulOct 01, 2011 23:08:14 | Suddenly having the same problem. Worked fine until today. Now the load screen counts up to 99% and then just a white screen. I'm on Chrome 14.0.835.186 and OSX 10.7.1. |
| #10fujiriotOct 02, 2011 17:57:15 | I did the suggestions above as well. I did get it from being a blank screen but now it does the Please Wait loading screen. It errors out now with the following message: System.ServiceModel.CommunicationException: [CrossDomainError] Arguments: ioun.wizards.com/ContentVault.svc Debugging resource strings are unavailable. | #11EnaloindirOct 02, 2011 23:36:13 | The recent update of the builder fixed my problems...I didn't have to do anything. :s |
| #12RobinInSeoulOct 06, 2011 2:13:07 | Anyone getting any traction on this issue? So far, Support has told me to
Either these things don't apply to me, or they didn't work. Replied to Support and just waiting for a response. I hope I don't have to cancel my subscription because I think the tools are pretty helpful. |
| #13RobinInSeoulOct 14, 2011 22:54:42 | Latest email from Support: Unfortunately, we have gone through all the troubleshooting information we currently have available at this time. So I have submitted this issue to the appropriate department for review. I cannot guarantee any further follow up with you about this issue but we may contact you for further information. In the meantime, if you can, please continue to use the Character Builder and other tools on the operating system that works for you currently and if you have any updates to your ability to use these tools on your Mac operating system please let us know. We appreciate your help in improving our products. Sorry, we can't figure out your problem, but have a nice day. Grr. |
| #14kimliOct 18, 2011 19:54:17 | That is too bad. I wish you luck in getting it working. Hopefully they get enough info and can figure that out. |
| #15RobinInSeoulOct 19, 2011 2:31:09 | Thanks, it's frustrating as hell. If I ever get anywhere, short of canceling my subscription, I'll post it here. |
| #16RobinInSeoulOct 23, 2011 18:09:58 | Checked in again with Support just to see if there was anything new on my issue. The Support person told me there wasn't, but I could try unistalling and reinstalling Silverlight. I don't know why I didn't think of this myself, but it worked. I used AppZapper to find it on my system and them zapped the plugin and the package. Redownloaded and installed and now the CB is working fine. Hope this helps someone else! |
| #17ellisd27Jun 02, 2012 6:58:02 | Any resolution on this Silverlight thing for Macs? Its happened on & off with my iMac (Safari 5, Chrome, Camino), then a week later on a 2012 Air (same apps). |
| #18RobinInSeoulJun 02, 2012 9:21:30 | Uninstalling and reinstalling Silverlight solved the problem for me. It hasn't happened again since then. |
