CharBuilder Won't Launch On Mac

Jul 28, 2011 2:40:16 I'm running Mac OSX 10.6.7 Snow Leopard. Safari 5. I launch the Character Builder, waiting for Silverlight to load, only to get a blank white screen. This has occurred on multiple Macintosh machines.

Our Windows machine runs it perfectly fine.

I suspect it may be an issue with Silverlight and OSX. Any ideas? Similar Issues?
If this is a widespread issue, I hope it gets resolved soon.

Aug 07, 2011 4:29:37 I have a MacBook Pro running OSX Lion (but I had the same problem using Snow Leopard). I get stuck on the "Please Wait. Loading Data"-screen forever.

The hour glass spinns but nothing happens. I experience the same thing using Safari 5.1, Firefox 3.6 and Chrome 13. I have Silverlight 4.0 installed.

Aug 09, 2011 6:52:11 Discovery! This is only a problem for gamers with non-English versions of OSX.

Solution: Go to System Preferences - Language & text - Formats and change "Region" to English-US.

Seeing the same blank screen. I tried changing my language from Custom ( I had date set to: YYYY-MM-DD and Time to 24 hours ) back to "United States" and still get the blank window.

Sep 11, 2011 0:49:48 Character Builder was running fine on my iMac w/ OSX 10.5.8 all day until an unexpected power outage. After I restarted the computer and tried to re-open the web interface, I get the same blank screen being described above. I have an English version of OSX.

Sep 16, 2011 9:07:23 Same problems here: stuck on the white screen after watching the counter go to 100%. I'm using OSX 10.7 and Safari 5.1/Firefox 6.0.2/Chrome 14.0.835.162.
What I've tried:

Reinstall Silverlight

Clear caches/temporary files

Run Firefox in 32 bit

Repair permissions

Nothing works so far.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Oct 01, 2011 23:08:14 Suddenly having the same problem. Worked fine until today. Now the load screen counts up to 99% and then just a white screen. I'm on Chrome 14.0.835.186 and OSX 10.7.1.

make sure I'm not logged in on multiple machines

delete temporary files

make sure my region is set to the US

Either these things don't apply to me, or they didn't work. Replied to Support and just waiting for a response. I hope I don't have to cancel my subscription because I think the tools are pretty helpful.

The Support person told me there wasn't, but I could try unistalling and reinstalling Silverlight. I don't know why I didn't think of this myself, but it worked. I used AppZapper to find it on my system and them zapped the plugin and the package. Redownloaded and installed and now the CB is working fine.

Hope this helps someone else!
