What modifiers are listed there seems very arbitrary to me, as some modifiers from items are listed (Battlecrazed weapon's +XD6 damage when bloodied) while others are not (Rod of first bloods +1D8 damage against unharmed foes), despite both bloodied and unharmed are circumstantial (the reasoning for not including some modifiers). There are similar inconsistencies with feats as well, such as "Against all odds"'s +1 to hit/damage (listed separately to boot) from being adjacent to 3+ foes at the start of your turn (...rather situational if you ask me, yet listed) vs a shadow walking warlock's "Empowering shadows" rather more common +1 to damage when you have concealment. Some modifiers are listed even when they don't apply (Battleragers +2 damage in light armour if you have THP's is listed even when wearing scale) while others aren't listed even when they're mandatory (+1 to hit on a charge isn't listed, even on powers like flattening charge (warlord), that must be used on a charge). It just seems odd to me the inconsistency in which these modifiers are listed or not listed (the reasoning given was circumstantial modifiers will not be listed, but all the modifiers above are circumstantial, and some are listed and some aren't, so that really doesn't explain it). I think listing all the modifiers granted by class features, feats and items, and then allowing you to customize the cards with which ones to display (akin to listing which weapons to display), would be a more useful (less confusing) solution. |
