| #1elwyndasMay 04, 2009 8:36:20 | It seems that not the full content is being searched for keywords. For example, when searching for "pull the target" nothing pops up, even the power "Cutting Words" contains those keywords. I tested it with other stuff. Same problem. Is search limited to titles of powers etc? That would be bad. Please fix asap, it makes the compendium pretty useless if search doesn't work... thanks! |
| #2MockMay 04, 2009 9:10:30 | It seems that not the full content is being searched for keywords. It's possible those are stopwords in the search - pull, the, and target are I expect common to many powers. Were you searching as a phrase, or just for those terms. |
| #3WotC_TrevorMay 04, 2009 15:25:00 | It seems that not the full content is being searched for keywords. Sometimes using full phrases causes searches in several engines to go wonky. As Mock pointed out this can be linked to blocked/forbidden words in the seasrch. I did a search for powers that using only the word "pull" and got several powers that pull the taget, so that may be your best bet. |
| #4arsagaMay 04, 2009 15:29:16 | The problem is worse than that. I've tried to search for Hunter's Quarry. Nothing. I searched for just the word quarry, I get a reference to Hunter's Quarry in a paragon path description. I did not get the actual action itself. Finally, I just had to do a blank search and refine it down to just ranger and Player's Handbook then scroll through the results. |

That definitely sounds like a bug, and if you haven't done so already, I suggest that you report it using the form. |
| #6mudbunnyMay 04, 2009 15:35:43 | Hunter's Quarry is a class feature, and as such it is found under the class option of your search, that being said, I will recommend that they add it into the powers section if possible. |
| #7arsagaMay 04, 2009 19:20:50 | This is where I am confused, then. Why shouldn't Hunter's Quarry come up for a generic search for the word quarry? I didn't set any parameters, so why shouldn't it put a number next to class if that's where it goes? or whichever result it belongs in? |
| #8mudbunnyMay 04, 2009 19:26:35 | It does. When I did a search for Quarry (no other parameters), there is a (1) next to Classes. |
| #9WaysideMay 05, 2009 5:44:56 | I agree, there is definitely something wrong with the compendium, I don't remember it doing this before. For example: If you search for the feat Echoes of Thunder it will not find the feat. It will however find bard, invoker, shaman, and the voice of thunder paragon path. In order to find the echoes of thunder feat you have to remove the of and just search for 'Echoes Thunder'. If you put in quotation marks "Echoes of Thunder" meaning it should search for that entire string, it finds absolutely nothing, while it should find only the echoes of thunder feat. If I just search for "of" I get hundreds of results, so it's not something so simple as certain common words being ignored. I should also note that although I get hundreds of results by searching of, echoes of thunder is still not among them. |
| #10elwyndasMay 05, 2009 15:15:14 | yes it's buggy, very buggy. It came after the last update. Before it was useful, now I can't use compendium anymore for the most simple searches. |
| #11elwyndasMay 07, 2009 7:55:23 | Just tried to find "come and get it". Only result: The Rogue... ![]() |
