| #1AvonRekaesMay 26, 2009 9:55:27 | Where was this announced? If there was a change of service I'd at least expect it to be shown on the Editorial Calendar, but that still says we're getting the update today. The DDI Announcement hasn't changed from the price increase/PHB3 preview article. The DDI Announcements forum just has mudbunny informing us of a server issue over the weekend, but no further news. So where is everyone getting the information that we're going to get compendium/character builder updates on the first tuesday of every month from? |
| #2mudbunnyMay 26, 2009 9:57:53 | Earlier this month, trevor posted the following:Hey all. I know we’re all ravenously awaiting DDI information and I was fortunate enough to get my hands on some details I think you’d like to have. |
| #3nzrpgrMay 26, 2009 14:48:21 | any chance that announcements like this get posted on the main site say here: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/4arch/news random posts in the forums isn't the ideal way to deliver information. i very infrequently come into the community section of the site. |
| #4echoshiftingMay 26, 2009 15:19:37 | any chance that announcements like this get posted on the main site say here: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/4arch/news Seriously, it's very difficult to keep track of these announcements in these labyrinthine forums. Frankly the main page linked in this quote needs to be overhauled altogether. |
| #5grim_repairMay 27, 2009 11:39:27 | Where was this announced? So I signed up for DDI again this month to get CB bugfixes, eagerly awaiting this Tuesdays update. When my subscription expires on the 1st I will have zero updates. (I really do not care about new content, but CB is a lifesaver when DMing so I thought $8 to fix the annoying bugs was worth it....stupid me). |
| #6milkcartonjoshMay 27, 2009 12:31:26 | I think with the extra week they are pushing the monk playtest and the hybrid character rules up to the builder. I'm not trying to argue against the points already made in this thread. Just saying it's not a bad trade for me: loosing a week for extra content. |

It's possible to pay for a month and get no updates. That would be.... bad. |
| #9slaaderMay 27, 2009 15:40:58 | We should all get an extra month since we are not getting a content update in May...which is what we all pay for. ![]() |

I'm not certain, but didn't the most recent hybrid article state that they were not going to be putting the hybrid material on the character builder? |
| #11unhappy_dupMay 27, 2009 16:17:13 | I'm not certain, but didn't the most recent hybrid article state that they were not going to be putting the hybrid material on the character builder? As we all know by now, plans made by wotc do not hold much of a promise. They're more like a guideline. That's part of the reason why many people lost faith in their ability to deliver. (Especially when it comes to SW-tools) |
| #12GrazelMay 29, 2009 20:03:47 | As for the no update for a month issue: that's not entirely true. My subscription goes from mid-month to mid-month so the delay doesn't push me out of an update per month since I didn't subscribe on the 1st of a month. That is one thing they're always gonna have to deal with if they try to 'lock down' the magazines based on subscription time. I theoretically could miss half a month of content but still get the compilation (or get half a months content but no compilation depending on where the break happens). I agree that news like the change in update schedules does need to make it into the news section and that much of the D&D site really needs a revamp. Right now it can be hard to find anything useful while ancient material is still 'front page news' with the site layout. As for the Hybrid article, that sidebar about not putting it in the CB and compendium is a reprint of the earlier article, which at that time they didn't plan on putting it in. Much of the article is just a reprint with the updates pasted in. They also left 'hybrid' off a couple classes and the wizard is missing it's header entirely. |
| #13CailteMay 30, 2009 3:55:00 | I'm not certain, but didn't the most recent hybrid article state that they were not going to be putting the hybrid material on the character builder? It did but it appears either the update will not include them as was suggested earlier this month, or the sidebar in the article wasn't fixed to reflect the change. Guess we will know on Tuesday. |
