#1 koltec Dec 11, 2008 11:59:08	Any chance we could get a slight improvement to the formatting of results in the Compendium? As-is, it almost works as a web service. But you have to do some interpretation, especially to read things like which stat a power is based on or the level of a monster. I'd like to make a suite of web app (mashup) tools that use the DDI Compendium for their data. That way, I've always got the latest data. And their use requires a DDI account, so WotC gets paid for their efforts. For example, I'm currently writing (& using for my own game) an encounter builder with better print layouts. I'm also planning to do a character builder - or perhaps just a character print layout engine that'll take a character you make with the DDI Character Builder, and the info on the Compendium, and give you a better print-out for use during game. For example, it'll have fully stat-customized power cards, including the secondary effects, a 1/2 sheet layout that skips all the boxes for calculating a stat and makes it easy to just see the actual combat stats, and the like. I'm also in the process of creating a web service that acts as a front-end to the compendium and does the screen-scraping for you. It violates the DDI ToS, so I can't provide it for anyone's use except my own (not even the rest of my game group) - even though it requires that the user have a valid DDI account. I would like this sort of thing to be legitimate. Preferably, I'd like to not have to write it myself. So, is there any interest in such a thing, either in WotC or out?
#2 mudbunny Dec 11, 2008 14:27:58	Your best bet would be to contact someone inside WotC and ask them directly. I highly doubt that you will get an actual answer on the boards. Leichenreiter has had experience with this, he would be someone that could probably steer you in the right direction.
