| #1poseidon88Nov 06, 2009 18:51:35 | I just posted v2.1.2 of my Compendium search tool for Windows: compendiumsearch.googlecode.com/files/Co... This is a handy little tool I run on my netbook during gaming sessions (along with some other DM tools) or when I'm working on my campaign. It's a lightweight, quick, and fully functional way to search content in the Compendium without having to run a full web browser. Requires a DDI subscription to view item details. | #8pfhreakDec 06, 2009 1:45:31 | Looking over the code on google code has given me some ideas on building tools with access to the compendium. I wish they'd give us the ability to get item information in a format other than html though. Makes parsing the information out too big of a headache right now. |
| #9poseidon88Dec 07, 2009 11:35:24 | Looking over the code on google code has given me some ideas on building tools with access to the compendium. Awesome. I intentionally made it open source in the hopes that other people would use it as a guide to adding Compendium functionality to their tools. If you have any questions about how/why I did particular things, don't hesitate to ask. I wish they'd give us the ability to get item information in a format other than html though. Makes parsing the information out too big of a headache right now. I hear you. I have a feeling they did it this way intentionally, as an attempt to thwart data piracy. It doesn't work, of course. Programs like Masterplan already download and parse all of the HTML. |
