Concerning the DDI Map Feature

For launch, the main focus of the D&DI Insider software designed to create maps (the Dungeon Builder) is mainly to focus on tactical maps, using digital tiles.

It will be possible to put a custom background image on the maps, and use this in some ways to represent larger maps, like city or outdoor maps, but the images will have to be generated with other programs.

The Dungeon Builder can be used offline to create tactical maps, and can be used without being a D&DI subscriber.

It is mainly an evolution of the previous Dungeon Tile Builder tool offered in the tool sections of the D&D web site, but the map output can be used in the D&D Game Table.

Unlike the tile builder though, it is a windows application, not a web application.

I'm not a subscriber, but the nice page for it tells me I can still download and use it - I just won't be able to use it in conjunction with Game Table - but I don't see a link to download the program on that page. I was able to find the Tile Builder, but I was wondering if someone cannier than I could tell me the download location of the Dungeon Builder.

EDIT: I apologize if this doesn't exactly fit the topic on more than a tangential note. I wasn't sure my concern warranted its own thread. Again, my apologies.

Keep an eye on the Insider page int he coming weeks (or let's HOPE for days) and it'll appear there when its ready for public consumption.
