So, accordign to the June 2011 Content Calendar, we will be getting editorial emeritus from previous editors-in-chief of Dragon, Kim Mohan ('81-'86, '93-'95), Wolfgang Baur (1993), Dave Gross (1990's), Jesse Decker (1990's), Matthew Sernett ('02-'03), Erik Mona ('04-'08), and Chris Youngs ('08-'10).

I was kind of hoping for an editiorial by Roger E. Moore, Timothy Kask (the first editor), but I'm very excited to see what people have to say.  I'm particularly intrigued to read Erik Mona's editorial.

Um, that's nice and all, but if I were paying for DDI, I'd be rather annoyed at the complete lack of stuff I'm paying for.  (Plus I didn't see any obvious player content).

Oh wait, this month I am paying for DDI.  Yeah, I'm a bit annoyed.

I don't think the Content Calendar contains the paid articles anymore.  You have to wait for Bart's blogs.

Yup, this is accurate.  For whatever reason (and without announcing it), they stopped listing insider content on the content calendar last month.  When I asked about it, no one seemed particularly interested.

I just took a look at the table of contents for Dragon 400 (just bring up the current issue and change the 399 to a 400).  There is good news and bad news:

Good news:  The scoundrel rogue article is a playtest that they evidently want feedback for.  There is also an article for battle clerics.  Both mention that they are trying to address feedback received.

Bad news:  Since that table of contents looks complete, I would have to infer that the long awaited article(s) for hybriding and multiclassing Essentials classes got put off yet another month.  This is really something that they should have addressed from the beginning -- at the rate we are going, we will reach the first anniversary of Heroes of the Fallen Lands without that material.

You did, and I thank you for that!  I was just surprised more people didn't take notice or voice an opinion on the change.

This month looks to be excellent! I will most probably resub. Maybe the worst is now behind us. I am especially pleased by the return of playtest articles and anti-nerfs to cleric.

I stopped looking at the calendar when they stopped putting stuff up ahead of time. The format didn't really make a lot of sense to me once you couldn't see what articles were being released in the future.

Dragon #400 is shaping up to be totally epic. Given the quantity of articles scheduled for both magazines in June, there's going to be something good to read EVERY DAY. That makes me super pumped.

The best part is the obvious overtone of "We're listening to the forums feedback".  Many of these articles are things we've been asking for for a while now.

I'm a very happy DDI subscriber.

And Dragonmirth? Ahhh... it makes me feel young again Cool

Wow.  I had gotten used to little content per month in my Dragon.  Then I looked at the June content calendar yesterday afternoon, and was surprised by about 3x the content listed, and that's before even listing the Dragon/Dungeon content.  So I was like, okay, they're pumping up the editorials, and we're getting these special anniversary stuff as well because it's Issue 400.  Then I see these two ToCs.

I'm like, am I seeing things, or are we back in late 2008?

WOW.  I'm proud to be a supporter of WotC, and that I stuck through, despite all the crap these last few months.  It's going to be a fun June.

I've had my complaints in recent months, but I've gotta give props here - this month looks like it will be an exceptional one. And, best of all, the return of comics to the magazine!
