Convenient errors

Hey all (and hopefully some wizards employee)

I recently got d&d insider to be able to use the great character builder, I figured I only needed one months subscription to get all the previous updates and then in a while I'll get another month to further update it.
All works out great, I enjoy my builder etc etc. I later get an email that they have automatically renewed my subscription. "What? Oh I had no idea they did that, tricky wizards but fine I don't mind paying an extra month, the character builder is worth it.
I then log into my d&d insider to disable the auto-renew. What is this, an error?

"Error:

We are currently unable to perform the selected action. Please accept our apologies for this inconvenience. We have been notified and are already working to correct this issue as quickly as possible. Please click your browser's back button and try this action at a later time, or take a different action.

Error Number: SUB_000203"

This is no good but I'll try again in a few days. What now? Oh you are rebuilding the site now? Well okay I'll come back at a later time.
Almost one month has gone by and I've tried quite a few times now, still the same error. I'll try to email them then, surely they can solve the problem that way, no? Oh another error, how dumb of me, I should have known.
Looks like I'll have to pay for yet another months subscription.

Uncool tactics from an otherwise cool company.

Really? When I first signed up they wouldn't even let me finish my registration until I checked-marked the box labeled auto-renew. It's kind of lame that one can't sign up with out enabling what might be an undesirable feature, but no one should have been able to sign up with out know as much, unless the registration screen has change since I first signed up back in October.

Sorry to hear about you problems though. I can only echo the previous posters advice, that you should try calling customer service.

I'm sorry to see that you're having trouble canceling the auto-renew. I would suggest that you contact [a:url=http://www.wizards.com/customerservice]Customer Service[/a] and inform them of the error that you got.

Click on the "Email Us" tab, then for topic choose "Online Gaming">"D&D Insider">"D&D Insider Account"

Hope that helps.

Hi,

thanks for the replys. I tried clicking the email us tab. I got an error there as well. I did find an email adress to ddi somewhere else on the site though. Sent them a message straight away hoping I would be in time before the next auto-renew hit me. Sorry to say they weren't quick enough. Just today I got a mail saying my subscription had been renewed.

I've tried to disable the feature on two different computers and three different browsers (on both computers). It obviously has nothing to do with my internet setup, browser settings or firewall.

I can't say I'm to happy about this. Although $23 isn't that much, I didn't want to pay it and I shouldn't have had to.

Have then cancel you immediately and tell them to credit back the month since you notified them prior to the auto-renew that you wanted to cancel.

If they refuse call your credit card provider and dispute the charges and if necessary be re-issued a new card number.
