Every time I try to click "Copy as Rich Text" on a custom monster MB crashes. Any one know why?

Also crashes with "Copy Image".

Works fine with standard monsters.

Sorry if this is a repeat topic.

Same here : downloaded yesterday the last update, created a custom monster (existing monster with higher level), and when I tried to copy in rich text format, the application crashed.

Windows XP 32 bits with SP3,  French regional settings

Are you using dots or commas as decimal separators? (I.e., English, or another language. I see that at least jtrowell is using French.)

That caused a lot of crashes earlier, and is easily changed in the regional settings in the control panel.

If that alleviates your problems it will help WotC to know, and others as well.

I noticed that the last post claiming he had problems was two weeks ago, did the October update fix this problem? Because my version is not up to date but I am having the crashing issue.

Well I just downloaded the newst version and now it works.

Unless there have been a hotfix since, the last patch *was* two weeks ago, and I made my test after having updated the monster builder.

Do you use the builder with a non-US Windows too ?

There was something in the patch note about a fix for internationalization problems, so at least for some users it has probably fixed something, but not for me.

I haven't tried exporting since my last test, but I have a game to prepare soon, and I will test with several regional settings to see if I can pinpoint the exact problem as suggested.

Earlier the problem was whenever you opened a monster.

Now it seems that it's when exporting in rtf.

I just tried resetting my decimal symbol to a comma, and immediately it crashed when I copied as rich text. (It crashed twice in a row when I used commas. I set it back to dots, and it worked.)

Control Panel -> Regional and Language Settings -> Formats tab -> Customize This Format -> Numbers tab -> Decimal Symbol

Set to dot '.' instead of comma ','

Did you try exporting as image ?

Now I have, with the same result.

I think we safely can assume this is the problem. (Again.)

(When it doesn't crash I have to restart the MB before the changes apply.)

Same problem here. Windows Vista 32 bits, SP3 I think, French Regional Settings.

Both export to Image and Export to RTF make my builder crash, even on normal monsters.

Let's hope it gets fixed on the 21st.

The bug lives on, even after updating.

I really need to export my monsters in RTF, since there's this wonderful combat tracker out there that allows for importation. Copying the monster by hand is sort of counterproductive.

You can use Henrix_temporarily's solution meanwhile, setting the decimal to a dot (".") instead of a comma (",") in the regional settings stop the crashing.

Hoping wizards will have fixed it for the next update ...

Oh my, this does the trick. Thanks a lot!

However, let's hope it'll only be temporary, since, well, I don't like messing with my regional settings.

Ok it may be a bit late seeing as the last post was 1 month ago but I've noticed that that the cause of this is that when you export to rtf the font size of the top row of the table is set to 1300 or something like that. I just select the top row and set the font size back to 12 or if I'm bored I just ctrl+A to select all and set to 9. Hope it helps.
