I have Vista SP1
Completely updated, including latest .net

I run everything in Admin mode.

I have re-installed CB twice. When that didn't work I re-installed the .net update. I do re-boots and registry clean-ups after uninstalls.

The thing still crashes irregardless.

When I crash trying to update, the problem details are:

Not sure if this is the same problem ya'll are having, but I uninstalled Internet Explorer 8 and now the patcher is running and I have gained a SUCCESS on the update.

and....CB launched without a problem...so if you have IE8 try uninstalling it!!

From the FAQ Installation issues

* If you have updating issues, check that your Character Builder folder in C:\program files\Wizards of the Coast and the files in it are not set as Read-Only (Right click, then properties). If some are set this way, go to the folder, right click on it, and select Properties to set the folder to not be read-only. Then confirm you want to apply this change to sub-folders and files, and then run the update again.

My character builder was crashing too, this worked though
