Only started using the Character Builder recently so I'm curious as to when the updates are to be expected to make characters for Season 6 of Encounters.

From my understanding it will be Aug 9.  The day before the first Encounter session.

Jeez.  One day before the season starts?  That's not much lead time.  oh well.

Clearly it should have been in place at latest last week (before free D&D day where we could make our own characters).  Sadly the computer products are still in the "new technology" stage of life for D&D, so they are often handled very well.

WOTC wants computers to become basic equipment for playing D&D (something I am fully in support of).  However, they are currently learning how to do this and we get to feel the growing pains.

I have my char built and will just modify him Wed morning.

Normally the book would not be included in the builder until the date of its release which is August 16th.  So we are getting it early.

Seems kinda weird to have the season start before the featured sourcebook is officially out, but meh.

Most stores that run Encounters have the Premiere status and receive the product usually 2 to 1 week early.

Yeah the Premier stores already have them for sale. I got mine Friday night so was able to look at it and make a char for Saturday's game day early though for my char the only things I took from the new book was the sub-race abilities and a theme. My roommate though made a bladesinger. Waiting on the update today so I can put his char into the builder and have a easier to read sheet for him and to update my char with the racial abilities and theme.

This was in another thread (which I can no longer find...).

Character Builder - Release Notes

That lists the updates for content in Character Builder.  But no time listed as to when it would be specifically available.

Is just me that thinks that Forgotten Realms Deities and Languages should be added to this last Encounters season?

Yeah.  They're missing.  Another thing that's missing is the Widow's Knife in equipment.  The bladesinger can get proficiency with it as a class choice, but there's none listed in the equipment section.

The Widows Knife doesnt exist in the Essentials books or the Neverwinter book. So it should not show as an option for them when making an Encounters only character.

It's also entirely identical to the Dagger, so you might just as well use that.
