Because the main site remains The Most Unhelpful Site Evertm, I'm curious about a few things regarding DDI, and CB specifically: a. Have they enabled support for custom content? Homebrew feats, equipment, etc. If not, are there any known plans to? b. Have they added the option to alter the UI or the character sheet layout and style? Last time I glanced at CB (beginning of the year or so) the layout was entirely too much form and not nearly enough function. I want more useful information in more sensible places, and less overdesigned interface and ink-and-space wasting filligree. c. I know there was an effort to adapt Silverlight to Unix-like platforms. That project appears to have died off a while ago. Does anyone know of an implementation of Moonlight or similar that will run CB? |

There are more choices for character sheets (two full sized ones with slightly different formats, but still ink heavy), and a summary sheet which really is just stat-block with notes (this one is just text). Although you can't customize feats or powers in the character builder, if you import a character into the Virtual Tabletop (or create one inside the VTT by hand), you can add notes for feats (and change powers or other details accordingly), and you can add or modify power card that will be playable in game. This means you can really create a customized character in the VTT. It does say you can export the character, but I'm not sure into what format...haven't tried that yet. I'm moving my online game from maptools to the VTT to see how it goes. I'm looking forward to my first game next week. As far as I know, nothing works on Unix, but not sure. I hope this helps. Cheers. |
