Hey guys,

First off, let me apologize if this has been covered before. I used the search function but couldn't find anything.

I know you can take an item or weapon your character has and customize it slightly (name, damage, weight), but can you change/customize the powers or abilities of an item?
Or, can you add a custom item into the builder on your own?

Any help or clarification would be appreciated.
Thank you!

You can...sort of.

In the item shopping screen you can click the houserules image and create a custom item. The only problem is that you can't define custom powers for that item, set an AC bonus, set damage above 2d12 or equip the custom items (at least to my knowledge). This can be done with spells, backgrounds, feats and other things too (but better).

For items that don't show up as 'magic items' you can also add another mundane item, then right click on it and edit the name and weight of it, but nothing else.

This is a really important functionality that's missing from the Character Builder.

It should work like eTools did, you can just create any type of item with the bonuses or effects that you select.

Otherwise it's impossible to put some stuff in your character, and if I have to resort to marking it with a pen in my printed sheet, then the Character Builder fails.

Example: My DM modified a Philactery of Divinity as a "Tiara of Selune" for my character, has a Perception bonus instead of the Heal one in the original. Now how the heck am I supposed to enter that???
