Is there some sort of standard format or method for creating custom races/classes/paths/feats/powers/etc? Some sort of script or standard form of language that needs to be used to get them to work in the program like the existing items?

In short: nope...

But, according to previous WOC staff postings, they are working on it...

Working on it is a good thing. I'm really looking forward to being able to put in some of my homebrew material to make it look nice on the power cards.

I agree. So far as I am concerned, this should be a priority! I have to admit, I am quite impressed with the level of functionality of the character generator; now if it can be adapted to easily accept custom scripts, we're in business!

Also, is this the place to point out that there is no means by which to enter custom deities?

I tried a custom race yesterday and was very disappointed. It needs to be able to apply custom race powers and racial ability modifiers.

As for custom deities, that one is actually deceptively easy. When you are finished with your character, under the Details screen on the Manage tab, just type the name of your deity into the field.

I hope this helps!

I too would like to see the HouseRule/CustomeElements aspect designed.

As it stands now, to use a custom race, I choose the closest existing one (like for a race that uses Str and Cha, I select the dragonborn), but that of course leaves that races powers and information on the sheet.

Samething with class and feat changes too.

Like I don't use default multiclassing, but I do use the feats in the character builder to show that I selected it.

Being able to add my custom version would be wonderful.

I myself, and many others in the WotC forums, have created a LOT of homebrew material. I personally really REALLY want the script for custom material to be added soon.

I mean, at this point, you can't even add GSL material. Its kinda not cool.

I for one also need the custom Dieties, the weapons I can deal with, I just assign a +2 sword and then have a sheet next to them with more detail.

In my campaign for ease I just assigned the Channel Divinty feats to the appropriate god, but I would like the God listed rather then a key that everyone needs to keep it straight
