I 'm new to D&D and my only experience with playing is from the board game Castle Ravenloft with my wife ... oh wait I also played a 3.5 game on Infrno.net and had a lot of fun. Although, I did have fun on Infrno, I find it difficult to find a game. I've been an Infrno member for a few months now and I've only played one game. Keep in mind that I've put in quite some time posting on VTT forums looking for a game and have had no luck. I've also noticed that a lot of these sites (Infrno, Fantasygrounds etc.) cater to many types of RPGs. That's great and all, but I want to get into D&D.
Would it be worth subscribing to D&D insider for access to the virtual tabletop? Is it easy for a noob like myself to find a game and learn through D&D Virtual Table?
Depending on where you live you could find face-to-face games. It can take a while, but most medium and large areas can support a game once you spend a few weeks finding people. If the area has a college it will almost always support a gaming group. You can try some of the online locators (there was an article on Joining the Party a while back on finding a gaming group and it includes some of those).
