Thanks!! I am looking into using various VTTs, and I look forward to seeing how you made yours.

To the others in this thread, please discuss the OP and his contribution to the community, not whether wikipedia is a valid legal resource or not and whether MapTools is Freeware or Free Software.

MudB,

I keep my waresoftiefree MaptooL(s) creations simmpel ;P I think a lot of people get hung up creating some kind of uber maps that take forever to download, cause crashes, and generally are not a good utilization of a DM's time.

Don't get me wrong though. A lot of good stuff is out there made by devout MaptooLer(s). I dont' consider any of my stuff to be "good," but instead "practical."

WotC doesn't have any plans to allow people who design stuff on DDI to release maps publicly do they?

(If anyone needs to finish demonstrating how "right" they are about whatever they need to be "right" about, realize that subject matter isn't important to this topic

Actually, the original plan was to allow people to share/publish their Game Table creations (and/or their characters) in the Online Vault.

That particular part of DDI has been backburnered until the core products are out, but I've heard of no other deviations from that plan.

I think that would be very helpful when its on the move then. Even if you could save them as .jpg maps or something and stick them in a scenario (such as the RPGA has to do) a lot more fan design scenarios and encounters could be put forth..

Puts on VCL hat

I asked politely once before, and I will ask politely again.

Keep the snark out of this thread. That includes discussions as to whether something is freeware, software, or some other sort of license. Discuss the contributions of the OP, provide suggestions that you would like to see, and other such ideas.
