| #2gregt_314May 11, 2009 0:15:40 | Is the full version out yet? Or do we start with character builder for now until June 2nd? Sorry, what? Full version of what? |
| #3audaciousMay 11, 2009 0:32:23 | Im trying figure out. How can I download or get the game to play it? Do I start with character builder? or what? I'm new to this. |
| #4copproMay 11, 2009 0:38:25 | D&D is a pen-and-paper roleplaying game; to start, you will need a playgroup and at least the Player's Handbook; the DM will probably want at least an adventure and/or the Dungeon Master's Guide and the Monter Manual. You can buy the books at most gaming stores and book stores. If you purchased a subscription to D&Di without realizing this and don't want to/can't play the tabletop game, contact Customer Service to arrange a refund. Have fun! |
| #5_Mithreinmaethor_May 11, 2009 0:47:57 | Your question truly makes no sense. Can you rephrase or explain your question please? |
| #6audaciousMay 11, 2009 0:59:54 | Ok let me rephrase. I play alot of online games and I probably didn't really read website carefully before paying for subscription. I have played WoW, Everquest, Ultima Online and all sorts of online gaming. If this is not an online game then I made mistake. I was surfing whole site of D & D trying to find download link for the game itself. If its a pen/paper game then I'm not into it. I downloaded Character builder but its not working with my 64 bit Vista anyways. I even got the Microsoft.net Framework SP1 downloaded to make it work according to instructions to make it work for 64 bit vista. Its not loading up. |
| #7_radagast__dupMay 11, 2009 2:11:45 | Wow... |
| #8cyberianhuskyMay 11, 2009 2:22:05 | lol... I suspect this is a troll attempt (and a funny/subtle one at that) -but on the off chance that it isnt... Audacious : Contrary to what some people like to claim, D&D is NOT actually an MMORPG, its the other kind of RPG, the offline kind you dont need a computer for ;) |
| #9The_JesterMay 11, 2009 11:58:00 | There IS a D&D MMORPG: Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach http://www.ddo.com/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stormreach It uses an older version of the pen&paper rules and was released two years back. D&D Insider is for the non-online tabletop game. |
| #10DralenanMay 11, 2009 17:15:55 | But we don't like to talk about that. Most of us are happy to go on thinking it doesn't exist... |
| #11Dane_McArdyMay 11, 2009 17:17:24 | But we don't like to talk about that. Most of us are happy to go on thinking it doesn't exist... Why, I found DnD Online was fun. I had lots of fun I should say. |
| #12KM.549May 11, 2009 17:19:50 | Why, I found DnD Online was fun. I had lots of fun I should say. I thought it was a fun MMORPG. But IMO they changed the level system too much so it was not DnD. So it should not have been called DnD online. |
| #13DralenanMay 11, 2009 17:40:57 | Hmm, you two are the first people I've talk to about the game that actually liked it. I thought it was awful. |
| #14Dane_McArdyMay 11, 2009 17:44:35 | Hmm, you two are the first people I've talk to about the game that actually liked it. I thought it was awful. Well, it wasn't perfect. But for logging on, running some quests with friends, and such, it was great. Great dungeon environments. Not everything appeals to everyone. |
| #15dnddanMay 12, 2009 10:16:15 | I have to admit, this is the best troll I've seen in a long time. Bravo! :D If it is legitimate, I have to wonder who would sign up for something without knowing what it is. ![]() As for DDO, I enjoyed it for the year I played it. |
