| #1skraigMay 08, 2011 13:45:12 | Just listened to the podcast. The art project sounded really good. I liked the different approaches to the same piece. This brings up art in D&D in general. In the old AD&D days they used several artists at the same time. Often art would vary in style radically from one to another. I liked that it emphasized the aspect of D&D where you make it your own vision. I doubt it was deliberate but that was the effect. I hope they consider using more artists and more varied styles. I know this makes it harder to create a esthetic feel for D&D, which marketing might feel important for building brand identification. However having more styles and more looks makes the game look less specific to one campaign idea and better at fitting any idea for how you want D&D to look. |
