D&DI Compendium & "Next"?

Hi, 

 

does anybody know if Wizards going to let D&D Insiders Toolset for 4e (mainly compendium) running or if they shut it down as soon as next is out ;-( ?

My guess is that they leave it as is until sometime next year; when, I think, they will probably decommission it.

 

However, it should not require much in the way of manpower/time to maintain it at it's final state. It is possible they could just let the server(s) involved run until they die.

Currently they say they'll leave the tools up as long as they have enough DDI subscriptions. Once they close DDI down (since the 5e tools is being done through a 3rd party and no word on if Dragon/Dungeon will return) it may be possible they put out a purchasable standalone version since there's no content updates so it'd be a static db at that time.
