D&DI Submissions Questions

Greetings,

I am interested in submitting for the new digital Dungeon and Dragon magazines. However, I have a few questions, listed in order of importance and relevance.

1. In the Tactical Encounter Template, a Monster stat block style document is referenced. It is supposed to detail how to stat out a monster in word for use in an article, but it is not included in the template. Where may I acquire this document so that I can submit proper stat blocks?

2. In the Writer's Guidelines, the TAG style is referenced. What exactly is the TAG style, and how do I replicate it?

3. In the Writer's Guidelines it is stated that articles over 5,000 words are unlikely to be eligible (except for full adventures, which run 8,000-10,000 words). However, both of the Demononicon articles printed so far are in excess of 7,500 words. They are also written by the same author. Does this mean Demonomicon articles are allowed to go over the 5,000 words recommended limit, and/or are they handled exclusively by Robert J. Schwalb? For that matter, which regular articles (features and columns) are not open for submission? I am attempting to only submit ideas for article types that are more likely to be accepted and could use a little help.

4. In the Tactical Encounter Template, a few examples of one and two page encounters are supposed to be included but appear to be missing.

Thank you very much for your time. If you are unable to answer these questions, would it be too much to ask for a reply detailing where I might acquire answers to these questions?

Thanks again,

These things are all missing, they will hopefully turn up when the submission guidelines are updated to reflect DDI and 4E.

As to what the TAG is...That's a good question, though I guess reading the usual article content etc would give a good idea for what is meant.

Mind you note that if you submit a proposal you get a generic "thanks for your interest in Dragon and Dungeon Magazines" automated response and go in the pile for a 60 day turn around on a response from a human.

They really need to shorten that with the digital publishing.

Heck I don't even know when 60 days is from today...
