I dunno. I have a real game this Saturday. It will happen when I have the time to put one together.

The one I was working on is gone.

Use a different browser.  Crusifx mentioned that he is using Chrome, and none of his tables showed up on the list, but when he switched to a different browser (didn't say if it was IE or Firefox, etc) they showed up again. . .

I had the same issue. I could not see any open tables in ie. Got firefox and could see them again. Playing around with ie I got them back. I had been clearing the files in ie but did not have passwords and forms selected. After clearing those ie showed the open tables again.

Question.  Is the VT only usable by DDI account holders?  In other words can a DM log in and invite his home group for a game session if each member doesn't already have an account?  I'm not talking about sharing an account.

Come on second wave of invites.  I wanna try it out.

This will actually be the ultimate point that decides the usefulness of the VT for me--if I can't use it to run games for people not in DDI, then it won't be of use to me for playing with friends.

Playing remotely with non-DDi people?  Unlikely.

There's nothing stopping you, though, from firing it up on a computer and manipulating everything on one screen.  Get your players' characters in your Builder account, and you can load them all in.  I'm not sure some of the 'hidden area' features will quite work properly, but as far as characters, movement, power tracking, etc. you can do it all from one person.

I may try to do this actually - even if it means moving my computer over to my TV for the session.

not really. If they use the passkey system, they could easily set it up so that only DDI people can run a game, and you need to purchase a passkey to enter a table. If this was the case, and the passkey was somewhere in the neighborhood of $1-5 per session, it is entirely useful as a VT for non DDI people with me having a subscription to run it. If they don't do something similar, then it will be all but useless to me, and I'll be seriously examining free tables such as maptools.

It's an easy way for WOTC to make money off of people who just aren't going to pay for DDI, and to keep me paying for DDI. And really, assuming they have a large enough keycode set, there is no reason they couldn't do it fairly easily, even given the current system.

I would be curious to see if they can actually monetize play like that - get you to give them a couple bucks every time you sit down for a session. I bet they would be delirious with joy if people go for it; it would be a financial bonanza.
