DDi seems to think that I don't have a valid subscription, even though my order history confirms that I bought a 1 year subscription last October, AND that I'm set to auto-renew if I expire anyway. Anyone else having trouble today?

I did the logging off and back on several times. I tried logging off, then closing windows to restart it, followed by logging again. Finally I tried logging off and restarting my computer out of sheer madness on my part. All this to no avail.

I'm a one year subscriber that created my account several months ago and this is my first problem with viewing the DDi content ever. I hope someone fixes this issue soon, because, unfortunately, there are quite a few members having similiar problems. Not to mention that the boards will fill up rather quickly as the day grows.

Yup, can't get to any subscription-only content, even after trying to login multiple different ways.

I wonder what the response time is, has someone there realised things aren't right yet?

This is the message you get on the Customer Service site:
The account login section of our site is currently down for maintenance. You will not be able to send an email using the Email Us tab or access the My Stuff tab, but you can still browse the Knowledge Base. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.
I wonder if it has anything to do with it. Perhaps not, but I tried to inform them through that service, but I can't because of the log in issues.

So has it started working for everyone yet? I still can't access any of the DDI subsriber content... sucks, since I just had signed up for the subscription yesterday and really want to start using it :'( Don't know if it is an issue with my account specifically or if the above problems are still unresolved.

Nope - still down for me (as a new subscriber) - it is nice though that the really essential services like accepting credit card payments and processing are functional even though the content is not. Taking in money is obviously a larger priority than providing access.

I would love to sit in on the lessons-learned session that the project manager should be holding. It sounds as if the disaster recovery plan is...go home and work from there. With all of the co-location going on I'd say it's time to invest in a hotsite.

I haven't calculated previous outages but the current outage is nearing the 24 hour mark. Depending on what your availability metrics are (which is what should be being tracked) this is a small blip but if you are trying to strive for the Five 9's then you're running close to not meeting that.

Oh well - I'll sit back and wait for the communication that everything's back up...which I'm sure will be sent out to all subscribers who are currently down.

This is not acceptable. With the amount of money they're raking in they should at least be able to afford an onsite Mana Tap or Fusion Reactor as a backup UPS.

Yeah, about the fusion reactor...I'm working as fast as I can on that one...;) (That's what I do for a living, really.)

I'm a new subscriber (signed up yesterday), still no access to DnD Insider content. There is much weeping and gnashing of teeth in the house of M.

Great to know it is a problem for new subscribers in general right now... iz nu ande juzt payde munny can i has my ddi nao? kthxbai.

EDIT: It is working now. If you signed up yesterday and still aren't able to get access yet, try emailing wizard through the help link, turned out they just needed to fix something manually on my account and then it worked.

I think there is something wrong still.

I went into compendium, clicked on creatures, went to 'keywords' and picked Vampires from the list.

Only 3 come up - all from dragon magazine 371. Nothing from the MM or anything.

Ugh, I just want to finish this adventure I am making... Nothing seems to be going right for days now....

My bad. For some reason WOTC only used the Vampire keyword on those 3 creatures in Dragon. For all other vampires in every other source book, the keyword is undead.

Thanks for being consistent.

Hey guys. A transfomer blew in the Wizards neighborhood and we lost power at the building. Because of this, a lot of our systems went down, and people inside the building aren't really able to post or send out communications.

Power's back up, but restarting all the systems is taking some time. It looks like we're seeing problems with everyone accessing DDI subscriber and we're working to get that fixed.

Hopefully we'll have things up and running soon, and I'm sure the person who crashed into the transformer is sorry too

PS - I'm able to post because I live a couple miles from work and drove home to get some things done.

Ah, this explains things. I jsut thought you guys where ignoring me after I got the DDI problems sorted out and then suddenly I have no access nice to know ^^

Will we get any compensation for the lost days of access? (Yes I'm THAT cheecky ;) )

I can help supply some of the technical details here...

Earlier today, our internal infrastructure and forums were in the middle of a scheduled service and database update. When the transformer went down, our client machines, which are hosted in our Renton offices at our desks, went down preventing us from coordinating and controlling our service and database updates. Our servers, which are not hosted on-site, were already intentionally down for maintenance but we had limited on-site client machines under UPS control to continue the update. So, we had to abandon the updates and rollback our services and database using limited on-site client machines on our UPS.

Most of our systems were restored quickly but we are still working on a few remaining systems, such as the DDi entitlement system, and verifying thier functionality.

I too am now at home, many miles away, due to the power outage.

Ok I understand some minor inconveniences but I have had this problem with the account since I renewed my membership about a week ago. The whole reason I pay for the insider is because I like reading the dragon and dungeon magazine stuff (other than the character creator) and that is what I can't access. If my membership is only good for a month and for a month I can't access anything, I would like some reimbursement. $7.95 isn't much, but it is all I can afford at the moment and even that was iffy.

That sounds like something you should contact customer service about, especially if it was doing this before yesterday.

Just a quick question relating to this, but would this also affect the character builder? I was over over at another players house yesterday and we want to update his character builder demo to full version and it says server cannot be acessed. Would this have anything to do with this issue because it is kind of bugging me that it won't update to the full version...I just wanna know if THIS is what's causing the issue.

(I would like to know why ORC_KiRin edited my post with " Reason: Promotion of Illeghal Activities is a Code of Conduct violatiob")

I just subscribed about 15 minutes ago and cannot access the content. I've tried clearing my cache and restarting my browser. No luck. Are the servers down again?

Try this:

1 - Log out of DDI
2 - Clear cache, temp internet history, temp internet files, etc.
3 - Completely shut down browsser.
4 - Restart and log in.

If that doesn't work, try with a diferent browser.
