DDI categories make no sense

While trying to find neat fluff DM articles to use in my campaign, I have discovered that the organization of Dragon and Dungeon articles are a real mess, inconsequent and that it makes little to no sense.

Examples:

Why is Dark Awakenings a "Feature", when it's clearly an adventure?

Why is Sealing the Pact an "adventure", when it is clearly not?

Why is Kord's Fury a "Feature", when a sub-heading within the article states that it is a Channel Divinity article, for which there is a category of its own?

Why are there categories with only 1 article in it, while almost everything gets thrown into the "Feature" category?

For a DM who wants seeds, hooks, background stuff etc. to use in campaigns, it's extremely annoying because you never know if the the article you open, is fluff or crunch. As it is now, there really isn't that much of a difference between Dungeon and Dragon, and player articles and DM articles.

Here's a litmus test for where the articles go (and since the switch, they've been doing this):

If there's any DM-only material AT ALL in the article, it's in Dungeon.
That means, Ecology articles, while having feats in ones like Ecology of the Dragonborn or Ecology of the Deva, belong from now on in Dungeon because they feature monster material.

Most articles aren't mixed however, and don't have that problem.

The Solo Adventure belongs in Dragon because it's a game for the player to play on his/her own.

I think the real problem you have is that: (a) the system for the old articles wasn't thorough, so there are errors like you mentioned; and (b) most of the old articles are catagorised in the magazine they used to be in, rather the magazine they're in now.  So, Lords of Chaos: Mual-Tar is in Dragon, even though if he was released today, he'd be in Dungeon.

It's a bit tricky.  I keep a folder dividing the two up of all the articles I've downloaded, and organised them into the right catagories.  I suggest you do the same.

My D&DI content folder has a subfolder this month named "383, 174" and another called 'Adventures'.  I've put 'Sealing the Pact' (from Dungeon 174) and also 'Class Acts Ranger' (from Dragon 383) in the articles folder and "Test of Fire" (from Dungeon 174) in the adventures folder.

In earlier months, I would have just thrown the articles in a 'Dragon' folder and the adventures in a 'Dungeon' folder.  The articles are appearing in both ezines now, the lines have blurred, so this is less confusing for me.

Rambling thoughts ;).
