| #1mudbunnyApr 27, 2009 20:21:55 | The Purpose of this report is to inform Community Management and the Brand Teams about the mood(s) of the Community on various topics. This is not to imply that Community Management does not read the forums, because they do. However they also requested that VCLs provide these reports in order to provide an outside perspective. It is important to note that even if the Community, the News Guides and I all feel that an item is important and needs to be acted upon immediately, WotC may have different priorities. These reports are not intended to be "honey-do" lists for WotC, nor is a lack of response by WotC towards any of the topics on these reports an indication that WotC has read and dismissed (or even worse, is ignoring) the concerns of the community. It simply means that they have other items that have higher priorities, or are more urgent for WotC to deal with. 1) There is still some confusion over when preview articles are added to the Character builder/Compendium. Would it be possible, in a generic-style header to those articles, to note that they are only added to the Character Builder and/or compendium when the book is published? 2) Would it be possible to get descriptions/explanations of the xml output format for the character builder so that people who want to write stuff that modifies the output data can do so without having to do it by trial and error?? 2a) Will there be licence requirements for people who write programs to interpret the .xml output? 3) Is there any different word on the possibility of a MAC port in the near future? 4) What with the announcement of the Campaign Tools as the next DDI tool, I have a Directed Discussion thread ( http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?t=1176435) and on ENWorld, there is a thread (http://www.enworld.org/forum/general-rpg-discussion/255012-more-infos-about-dungeons-dragons-insider-campaign-tools.html) discussing what people would like to see in the Campaign Manager. 5) Reports are that the submission page is not consistent with the actual process and is out of date in that it refers to 3.5 material. Would it be possible to get the web-page updated and new submission guidelines outlined?? |

| #3whitebaronApr 29, 2009 12:43:50 | as for 2a) not really required in the current incarnation, as they removed basically everything that was proprietory from the files. names are free per the new srd, and calculations are also free as you can't copyright stuff like 2d6+10. everything else is not provided in the file, it's just in linkage to the compendium... |
