I've been away from the internet for quite some time. The last time I checked, a DDi subscription was not yet available and, as many here have mentioned, there were more tools in the subscription line-up.

I am pleased to see that DDi is up and running and offering a great value for role play enthusiasts!

DUNGEON and DRAGON magazines are simply superb! I love all of that delicious content. The material is top-notch and the artwork is incredible! At first I was a bit nervous to find out that I could no longer purchase the hard-copy magazines. After seeing what's been done, my nerves are calm and pleasantly eager.

The current set of tools looks great! I must say that I can somewhat understand some of the disappointment expressed by others regarding the fact that the originally envisioned set of tools is not yet complete. Somewhat.
The thing is, I have done a quick look into what the Dev's had to say, and I'm very pleased that they are taking the approach that they are: Release the tools once they are ready - not before. The recent statement I read regarding their goals in answer to a recent poll was refreshing and professional. It seems to me that those in charge of the whole project truly know what they're doing.

This weekend I'll be clicking the "Subscribe Now" button and purchasing a year's worth of WotC D&D Bliss!

During all of those months that I was internet-free, I eagerly awaited more tomes of the fourth edition and bought them as they became available and I must say that, although my original thoughts of having to live through yet another edition, I love this fourth edition more than anything preceding.

Happy Camper = Me!

PS:
Thanks, Wizards of the Coast, and all of you who help this stuff along!
I have relatively few hobbies, D&D being my absolute favorite.

I began role playing a few months before TSR released the first Core books for AD&D 2nd Edition. I was the first in our party to begin collecting that series, and I've been an avid collector ever since.
As my 2nd Ed collection grew, and I anxiously awaited new releases, I scoured the pages of the AD&D 1st Ed Core rulebooks and found that I liked those as well - so I added the first edition to my list of must-haves. Relocating to the area in which I currently reside, I turned on a group of neighbors to this fantastic hobby, running them through my rather large Forgotten Realms collection. A while later, one fellow who showed up for only a few games asked if he could DM the group on an alternate night. How could I say no to that?
The game he ran was using the then new D&D Basic rules, but with older Basic Adventure modules. Once again, I fell in love with yet another product line! The Gazetteers were really very cool! So I bought the D&D Rules Cyclopedia, the entire GAZ line along with all of these D&D starter sets. Some guy sold all of his stuff at a garage sale when he was down on his luck. I gave him $100 and took it all! That got me a bunch of the old original modules, a few repeat books I already had and the entire Spelljammer collection - plus a bunch more.

Anyways, I still have all of it - I'll never part with it no matter how hard the times might get. I even have the AD&D Core Rules 2.0 and Expansion (CD's) by Pro Fantasy and TSR. Love it all!

Wizards of the Coast bought the franchise and has done an absolutely superb job of captivating my interest through the whole thing. I look forward to your new endeavors in this exciting new edition - and applaud the core organization you are implementing. Some of my friends were set back by the race and class choices in the first PHB. I knew what you had up your sleeves and commend you for it. I simply love the idea of having an ever-expanding line of Player's Handbooks, Dungeon Master's Guides and Monster Manuals along with everything else. I love the entire D&D World write-up in the DMG with Fallcrest and the Nentir Vale - and how the Campaign-rich adventures use it. The H1-3 and P1-3 Adventures are fantastic and can't wait to see what the E series does to me and the group - I know it won't disappoint! The world is dark and in need of a few heroes!

I could really go on and on about how much I enjoy the new books - the DM tools and helpful advice... the PC goodies placing them in a true heroic state of being right from level one... the monster structuring and customization... I just love it!

So - Thanks, you all, from the very depths of my heart! Keep up the great work!

As I've mentioned before on the boards, I cannot even play the game currently, and I think the $5 a month I'm spending is WELL worth what I am getting back.

And I'd be willing to pay more in the future should more tools become available.

A job well done on the amount of content put out and the high quality of the character builder.
