you have to note, though, that this is due to technical inability to prevent it and not a deliberate choice taken. so this might change in the future.

Feb 28, 2009 23:32:46 I don't see a reason why they would block access to back issues of digital dungeon and dragon. You're paying for access, not for individual issues, so it's rather silly to think they'd go and make it impossible to get to any issues before you signed up.

exactly. you'd still be able to do so with the CB, and should there be other tools, all other tools - but you would not get the magazines. this was their original plan, and also to keep access for people who subscribed earlier and then left.

at the moment, it works like this:

be subscribed, have full access.
be unsubscribed, have no access at all.

no time-based functionality in there at all. whether or not they'll revisit that issue is yet to be announced/seen. If you had a subscription, you can only order lost issues via Customer Service, inconvenient, but works.
