You can update the character builder 5 times a month, and as they are only updated 1/month it means effectively you can keep 5 copies up to date. I don't think there is any system for tracking what computer you are accessing from, just a login prompt to download updates. |

Originally the bonus tools were not going to be supported by Macs and i was wondering if that had been fixed. Because i have having some troubles make a campaign and those tools would really help |

Character builder won't work, thats .net |
| #6geminivsseraphMar 13, 2009 9:38:02 | Why would that one be different from the rest though. i really want to subscribe for all the bonus stuff like the monster maker and stuff but i dont want to waste my money if it is just for pc, you know. |

Just make sure you and your players are having fun. The rules will come to you naturally as you play more and more. If there is a rule that you need to know, have one of your player's look it up for you while you keep the story moving. |

I right great stories and keep people's attention but i have so much trouble with the here fight this now here dont for get this or that If you start a new thread in the "What's a DM to do?" subforum a bit above this section, I believe you could get a wealth of pointed tips on whatever is troubling you more than a few bonus tools would be able to help solve things. Not to deride the tools entirely, but the monster builder only does custom standard monsters, not elites or solos, and the encounter builder is essentially an XP calculator which tells you what level an encounter will be with certain monsters. To duplicate the work the encounter builder does, you just need a monster and the encounter XP level suggestions for difficulty in your DMG. A calculator would help too. Subscribing to DDi is worth it for the Character Builder program to help you build characters, the Compendium to let you pull out all sorts of monsters and items for designing your adventures, and the Dragon and Dungeon magazines for new options and pre-made adventures. It isn't worth it if your only goal is the bonus tools. Just as the name implies, they are very minor helps. |
