Sep 18, 2011 5:46:06 Last week I dropped the "Deck of Many Things" (DoMT) into my main campaign and the players are loving it. This is the paragon tier version created by Rodney Thompson and published in Dungeon #177. Last night I got a call from the player who is using the DoMT and he tells me that it's not in the character builder. Furthermore, it's not in the compendium.

"Nonsense" I say "I looked at it a couple of months ago, it's definitely online".

But he's right. It's gone. Not in the compendium, not in the CB.

Hopefully this is just a mistake on the part of the devs and this item is being restored to its glory on Tuesday.

I understand that with the release of Gardmore Abbey there will be a heroic tier version, but I was under the impression that the heroic version would co-exist alongside the paragon tier version.

WotC, please investigate and fix this. Thank you.

The DoMT was never in the comendium or CB.

Alsdo, as Steve noted here, problems with the formatting of the artifacts and other goodies in MME means that it won't be getting added until October.

The developer who oversees the Compendium doesn't think the DoMT was ever included but might be wrong. We're trying to confirm what that situation is.

But ...

The deck won't be added in Tuesday's update. As noted in another post in the Announcements folder, the new formats for magic items, and artifacts in particular, are causing problems in the digital tools. That means the deck of many things won't be available in the Compendium or CB until October. The same thing goes for all of Mordenkainen's Magnificent Emporium. The database issues caused by the new formats won't be worked out in time for the September update, so MME is being delayed until October.

I'm 99.9% sure the paragon DoMT was in the CB (under the magic tome implement section), and about 50% sure I saw it in the compendium.

When the DoMT is finally added in, it would be wonderful if the compendium and CB could include both the heroic tier and paragon tier versions.

In case anybody is interested....

I'm running a paragon tier game now with my main campaign and I want to send my other campaign back in time using the Gardmore abbey adventure. Both groups will get the DoMT but at different time frames, the past (heroic) and the future (paragon). Then one player from each group is going to swap to the other group and bring their characters with them for some time bending, mind bending fun.

We're going to have our next Tomb of Horrors session in very eary October, and currently our characters have left the tomb again and are about to do some shopping. Was really hoping to be able to see if I could buy a few of the MME items before the next session. Might not be able to do that if they're not in the CB and compendium...

Any chance we'll have an early update to the CB and/or Compendium to fix the database issue? Or will we likely have to wait till late october?
