I read in the Current Issues of the Character Builder that they want to add more Character Sheets. I wanted to know if they gave any clues or news about when they we're going to add the default 4e CS that came with the PHB's. As much as the other ones are OK, I still prefer the old style for the sheets.

We are over 8 months since the new Character builder was unveiled, and the character sheet was one of the first complaints about the new builder.
I find it hard to believe that they could not have found the time to fix this issue if they actually cared to. Of course they refuse to come out and say that they are not going todo it because that would upset people - so they just stay silent and tell us thay are working on things (but won't tell us what they are actually working on)
I used to subscribe to DDi just for the character builder but the new builder is so bad, slow, power hungry and limited that I cancelled my subscription.
I believe one of the reasons to change it was to use Silverlight so Ipads and Macs could use it, I have heard from reliable sources that Microsoft are scrapping Silverlight.
Where does that leave us?

Silverlight is not going away.
I don't actually care anymore as I do not subscribe to insider any more and use the offline tools.
The manager dude is wrong. I'm no expert on the subject either but a look at Microsoft's support site for Silverlight or even the Wikipedia article on Silverlight would reveal that it is not on its way out any time soon and is still fully supported by Microsoft.
That's actually not entirely true. While microsoft still fully supports Silverlight, windows 8 is going to be pushing HTML 5 much more than silverlight. Do a search on Google for Silverlight Windows 8, and you find a bunch of articles about how Silverlight is in a really akward place with HTML 5 getting pushed hard for Windows 8, and a lot of forum posts on the silverlight forums asking Microsoft for clarifaction on where Silverlight stands in windows 8. It's looking more and more like Silverlight is going to be for WP7, and not as supported on the desktop interface.
If someone had a beta of 64 bit Win8 running on a machine right now and was using the CB on it they could demonstrate that there's nothing to worry about with Win8 and Silverlight. Too bad nobody has that running on a computer sitting right next to them at this moment. I don't know anybody else who does and I certainly wouldn't know where to find such a thing. ;)
For myself, I don't see any need to move off of Win7 anytime in the near future and Silverlight works fine on Win7, of course. I'll probably get it the next time I get a new computer in the next few years, just because it will probably be packaged with it.
Of course nobody knows what the future will hold but my money says not be concerned. If you think about it, yanking the Silverlight rug out from under users in the short term would be a monumentally bad decision when the latest version of SL is due out in a few months, and MS isn't that stupid. As for HTML5, it's kinda hard to support HTML5 when it hasn't been fully standardized yet. That may not stop MS from creating their own implementation, but I haven't read anything indicating that they're going to do that yet, and that would also be a bad decision. Not that they haven't done something like that before.

Here's a question: in the grab bag for the Neverwinter Game Day the players get is a blank Neverwinter-themed character sheet (haven't seen one yet). Will they be implementing that?
I imagine they'd be adding that when the Neverwinter book comes out officially. Though, honestly, that seem rediculous considering how the new Encounters season (which is set in Neverwinter) starts this Wednesday, and we need that kind of info to make proper characters. I don't know about the other theme cards that they handed out, but the Harper Agent theme card only has the Lliira's Grace Encounter Utility listed on the Harper Pin, not even mentioning that it's also supposed to grant two other blessings.
As for the char sheets, while I'd like the classic sheet available (or preferably the customizable ones from the LCB including landscape layout) at least I prefer the 'character builder' sheet to be a bit better than the 'essentials' layout.
