Defender multiclass doesn't qualify Warforged for Warforged Juggernaut PP?

Mar 24, 2009 22:02:22 I don't know if this is intentional or not, but I was under the impression that multiclassing fighter or any other defender class would qualify you for the warforged juggernaut paragon path, assuming you are a warforged.

Multiclass Feats
The following class-specific multiclass feats allow you
to dabble in the classes presented in this book. See
pages 208 and 209 in the Player’s Handbook for rules
on multiclassing.
If you take a class-specific multiclass feat, you
count as a member of that clas for the purpose of
meeting prerequisites, including prerequisites for
feats, paragon paths, epic destinies, and rituals./QUOTE]

By taking the fighter multiclass feat, you count as a member of that class for the purposes of paragon paths. Fighters are defenders, therefore by multiclassing you would count as a defender, At least that's been my interpretation. I see this as different from things that require specific class feature for instance, because class features have specific mechanical effects. Role is simply a suggestion of how a class be played, and all classes of a certain role have a few unifying features but are otherwise unique in their way of doing things. Characters can even be built to effectively cover other roles. One way or the other, I think the case of role as a pre-requisite needs to be more clearly defined if nothing else.

Mar 26, 2009 0:16:44 Hrmm, but does it change your role which is what the Juggernaut requires? A barbarian is a striker, not a defender. Sure it may have defender abilities, but ultimately it's a striker.
