| #1LonePaladinMar 27, 2010 13:58:15 | I have an issue with the default use of the Character Builder. It's generally assumed that any options from setting-specific books (such as races or feats) are permissible in other settings -- for instance, drow were detailed in the Forgotten Realms books, but feature prominently in Eberron, and it's possible to play an artificer in the Realms. The problem I have is when you create a divine character. On the class-selection screen, the list of deities is sorted first by the Player's Handbook entries, then everything else in alphabetical order by name. This makes it very difficult to find a setting-specific deity, especially if you're not playing a game set in the Realms (which has an overabundance of deities). There IS a workaround, at least: if you go into the Manage tab, under Campaign Settings, you can uncheck the Forgotten Realms books and the DMG. When you go back to the Build tab, the list only shows PH and Eberron deities. Only problem is, if you want the full range of options, you have to remember to go back and turn those books back on after selecting a deity. In one of the upcoming updates, can the deity list be resorted by sourcebook, rather than by name? |

Same place, open up the book tree to look at the individual parts. Do it once for all non-setting deities, and save as a campaign setting. Load into any other appropriate characters. |
