| #1marsinahOct 11, 2009 14:27:14 | I'm sharing this adventure path with another DM, so I don't feel like I should skip ahead looking for the answer to a magic item related question. The weapon "Wicked Fang" is a long sword only item, might want to change it. However, it seems to be somewhat story-related. Does the Adventure Path ever make Wicked Fang important (or is it even mentioned again)? And if it is important, does it have to have the exact powers as listed in the adventure? |

I'm sort of struggling with it in my game as well, since I don't have anyone that uses a longsword in my party. Since the description of the weapons says it was "destined to be at the center of great events," they clearly wanted it to be used. My main thought is to give Sarshan "vulnerable Wicked Fang 10" when he shows up again, and either the paladin or warlord could use it for that fight. |

As for it being at the center of great events, it could simply be implied that would happen if wielded by one of the party as they are destined to be at the center of the whole campaign. However, I also have a party of non-longsword wielders. The only one that actually uses a sword at all is the rogue. Though the warden is thinking of switching to greatsword rather than the craghammer he is currently using. In a discussion concerning magic items, we got on the track of the longsword being the most common weapon, but have yet to encounter a magical one. True, no one would really want to use it if one was found, but still... Its sort of a disjoint that all magic is tailored just for the party... even though with the packet system and wish list idea, that's what happens. Even so, I'm keeping Wicked Fang as a longsword. If they really like its properties, there is the Transfer Enchantment ritual. |
