My campaign is coming up on this adventure, but I don't include gnolls in my setting.  Compendium/MB tells me orcs and eladrin are the same level, but I'm thinking more of elves and githyanki.
Any advice on how to sub in elves and/or githyanki to this level 7 module?  How to re-skin, for instance?

The easiest substitution?  Just say the gnolls are elves twisted by their connection to Yeenoghu, and use the stats included.  Perhaps the corruption of the Beast of Butchery has caused them to lose their Elven Accuracy, replacing it with the gnoll's Pack Mentality (?) racial advantage.

A slightly less simple substitution is a slight reversal of the above - the gnolls are still described as elves, and the stats are mostly the same, but replace the Pack Mentality advantage with the Elven Accuracy advantage.  Now they'll still feel like elves, rather than fluff-waved gnolls.

The most difficult solution is a complete conversion.  I would lean more towards elves than githyanki for two reasons.  First off, the githyanki influence is supposed to be a huge reveal at the end of Temple, and a githyanki presence in Fortress Greystone might blunt that revelation.  Additionally, githyanki are pretty much paragon tier foes, and would take some degree of downgrading to fulfill all the roles shown in this adventure.  Elves, on the other hand, make for easy heroic tier foes, though they don't have as many variants, and would likely need to be created wholecloth.
