Dice Roll option for characteristics

While I have not tried this in the offline CB program, I thought I'd inquire about this...

In my upcoming campaign, the players wanted to roll their characteristics. Mind you, some of the values come out a bit on the high scale, typically nothing really below 12 or 13, usually around 15 or so.

I decided to use the online CB to create a couple of NPCs, using the dice roll method within the program.
The snag: Once the abilities are assigned, there is no way to continue on -- the "Next" button does not appear.
How is one supposed to continue on? This is a home game, not RPGA or LFR where the dice roll method's not allowed.

Thoughts? Known workarounds?

You can use the buttons on the left hand side to advance to the next item.  In this case, click on 5. Train Skills.

Still, this is something that should have been fixed already, and had better be fixed soon--a workaround here really isn't acceptable.

When the work around is "Hey, click this button instead!" I don't really think it's that big a deal. I mean, at least this bug has a workaround.

IMHO, you're far too forgiving of WotC, always giving excuses for their failings. Perhaps one minor workaround like this would be "no big deal" until it's fixed in the next udpate, but the plethora of workarounds required at this stage are not acceptable, and indeed are a big deal. (And what is the likelyhood that this bug will even be addressed any time soon? We'll see on the 18th!)

The Character Builder assumes that all characters are built with point buy.

The fact that you JUST HIT the button labled "roll abilities" is irrelevant to this.

You're not ready for "next" until your character is either clearly houseruled (a rolled ability below 8 or above 18) or has a legal point buy. There's no way to tell the character builder you're houseruling the ability costs.

Note that most races ALSO need to make a choice of where to add their bonus. Be careful to make sure you do so prior to navigating away from this page.

My point is that there are bigger fish to fry not that we should forgive WotC. Their crimes are numerous and the punishment should be swift.

The fact that it is an easy workaround of a problem many people seem to consider irrelevant is itself irrelevant. this is a problem that should never have happened. it is yet another in the list of things broken about the CB, and as your ability scores are central to your character, having things off there can cause issues.

I remain unconvinced it accuratly computes numbers, and this workaround is yet another place where they could be wrong. also, there is no way to know for sure (short of checking things) if you have something that still needs to be done. Since the current OCB does not give you numbers for any of the math it does, this can be an issue.

This is untrue.  It doesn't show you math for everything it does, just most.  Most being all powers that are not MBA/RBA.
