Did they seriously delete our petition?

Or did they just move it somehwere and I am not seeing it? Deleting it is very bad form mods. Responding to it with some canned response like "We have taken your concerns into consideration" and then locking it would have been better. By deleting it, your are silencing the very people you are asking feedback from.

I hope I am wrong and am just not seeing the thread because if WotC did delete it that is very, very poor form.

While even as a VCL I dislike when threads are outright deleted, petitions do violate the boards CoC, so such action is not unexpected.

I have passed the word about the petition that you guys started on to Solice, and she said that she is going to poke Randy to get him to address it in an upcoming Digital Insider.

As bubba pointed out, petition threads are against the CoC, and thus get deleted fairly quickly. However, if it had been an acyual discussion thread, where the pros and cons of opening it up the full range vs the shorter range, *cough*here*cough*, it wouldn't have been deleted.

I'm the dude who started the petition.
This is the email I got today after like 50 people signed it.
"We found content you posted on the forums that violates section six, disruption of the Code of Conduct.

Petitions are against the code of conduct."

Well it's your board, but I think it's an overreaction. We simply wanted to express our desire to get more levels in the character builder. Nothing wrong with that I think.

I also couldn't find anything about petitions in the code of conduct.

Anyway, I think the message is clear, if someone in management could please get back to us. I think the majority here agrees that we need at least up to level 10 in order to really bugfix anything that matters for the campaigns we are involved with. I'm personally done with creating mock characters and just need more stuff

I also want to say it's a great product and I'm glad it's there.

Petitions are considered spamming. They usually consist of "Me Too" posts and very little discussion. Like mudbunny said* it would have been fine if it was a discussion thread about opening up the other levels instead of a petition it would have been fine.

*Though I don't understand what an acyual discussion thread is.... Must be some strange mudbunny language. :P

In other words Beta testing really begins when the software actually gets released. Good plan?

No, not a good plan. Auto update and authorization is a huge source of bugs, and a potential source of delays.
