However, your article Finding Victims is on the home page. This would make me think like a normal person would that I can go read it. No, I was wrong even though you have your own tab for DDI you feel the need to tease me with articles I can't read. Why? If you can only use something with an account but it on the DDI tab or behind a DDI link. |

I understand that you want people to join your DnD Insider thing. However, your article Finding Victims is on the home page. This would make me think like a normal person would that I can go read it. The thing is, the home page has several "news feeds" for lack of a better term. there is one for Dungeon, one for Dragon, one for Minis, one for RPGa and 2 more. Features which contains free content, and the default feed "What's New" which contains everything. If you do not want to see the pay articles listed, click features. |

However, your article Finding Victims is on the home page. True. Everything WotC makes for D&D is on the D&D home page. Even though you have your own tab for DDI you feel the need to tease me with articles I can't read. Why? So that you know what you're missing. After all... I understand that you want people to join your DnD Insider thing. |
| #5izmir_stingerJun 04, 2009 15:52:54 | Yeah, I thought he had kind of answered his own question, and Seeker made it succinctly clear. Drabeck, would you be more or less likely to join the DDInsider "thingie" if you knew absolutely nothing about what came with it? They got me to join by showing off the character builder beta. Just enough to whet my appetite. |
| #6ArtifactJun 04, 2009 16:26:33 | I can understand where Drabeck is coming from. It is annoying to browse the site, click on something of interest, only to find out its 'Insider Only'. I enjoy the magazines immensely. That being said, the cost of a subscription is as much an 'admittance fee' as anything else. For better or worse, the magazines are heavily integrated into the actual site now. If I want the mags, I have to browse the site. By the same token, if I want just the site, I have to browse 'around' the mags. A degree of seperation would be nice but that's not likely to happen; as rcuhljr mentioned early on, it's called advertising. |

However, it would be nice for people to know what is paid content. Just a little D&DInsider logo or something next to the article name. |

I'm hopeful that this will receive some attention when they do the website overhaul this summer. Aside from hearing that a website overhaul is on the to-do list though I haven't heard any specifics. |

| #10KentinalJun 05, 2009 15:49:51 | *chuckles* The website has been needing an overhaul for over two year, perhaps more. There have been some fixes. There has been discussion about it indicating the problem in a large part, each department (of those on the site) wanting their proper share. Wanting their dosplay and likely driving IT to distraction on trying to balance competing requests for the same space. Odds are until a policy decision is handed down by higher ups (that might not have any web design experience) the web site will not be fixed/changed. |
