DDI is D&D Insider. You pay a subscription to see pre-release stuff.

Nope no DDO or "games tables" are available yet (ever?).

Yet. The Virtual Tabletop is still coming, but development is temporarily halted to finish up the GM Tools.

An additional monthly fee on top of what you paid for your D&D books is charged for D&D Insider, so you should check out that portion of the website and see if you value what you see as being available.

There are several not produced by WoTC available.

Personally I'd go with Maptool as its free and very good too.

I'll believe that when it comes out...right now we are at 1 year later...maybe by year 3...

Best Dungeons ever made for a MMO, though. Those were fun.

Just to make sure there's no confusion here the VTT has been tabled indefinitely to start on a new set of campaign tools I don't honestly find it likely that we will see the VTT at the current development rate it would be hard to justify the expense after a year or two. I'd personally look elsewhere for your on line experience.

By finish up you mean start right since they didn't have plans for these originally, unlike the game table which has had years in development, with nothing to show for it.

The Dungeon Builder is largely believed to have been merged into the Campaign Tools, and given that it would by far be the largest component of the application (we already have a Monster Builder, which is also believed to be in the CT, though it's of low-quality), it's reasonable to assume that they've simply rebranded the Dungeon Builder and added more features, rather than a new application (I could be /completely/ wrong here)

the VTT will be here before DNF, at least.

I seriously hope not, I need a much better featured encounter and monster builder more than I need something to layout dungeon maps.

hmm... i wouldn't mind having the incomplete VTT

these still look decent... maybe they tone down the graphics and the dynamicness of it, and we get it 10x's as fast

this is what the real world version looks like

The Dungeon Builder was always intended to create encounters with. A monster builder, on the other hand, would be relatively trivial compared to a full-fledged dungeon and encounter layout engine, which is why I'm saying it's likely added on top. I fully expect a fleshed-out monster builder!

The VTT is on indefinite hold. I know of quite a few software packages that have been on indefinite hold for over 15 years now. Until someone links to a message with WotC saying, "Yes, we are working on it," you should consider it never happening.

DnD Online: I beta tested it and wasn't too impressed. Good graphics, but it didn't really offer anything that wasn't already done someplace else. Plus in order to get any decent frame rate, I had to tone down the graphics to almost the minimum. At the time, my computer was still considered fairly decent mid level machine.

Talking about DDO, it was mostly meh, but had some fun dungeons, that gave me quite some joy, had even Gygax narrating one of them.
Also it featured a character visualizer from day 1 at no additional cost!
