| #1ErrantFeb 18, 2011 19:26:05 | Can't say I'm happy with the change to online character building only but since thats the way it is now it seems running it on a tablet style computer/gadget would be best at the gaming table. So are there any tablets that run it from the browser ok? Thanks in advance. |

However, with a DDI account, you can use iPlay4e, a cross-platform character sheet viewer that you can upload dnd4e files to, which pings the Compendium to populate skill fields. It doesn't build, but it does view, and you can run in on your iPad or your normal computer. For Android, there is kSheet, which has fantastic integration of dnd4e files. Once again, you can't directly run the CB--its for viewing not building. But my wife loves the easy swipe interface. And like iPlay4e, it's free. The immense usability of kSheet (there's also kMonster) on my wife's Android phone has justafied our DDI purchase completely. She is our DM and she uses it at the table to quick ref our characters powers. For native CB on a tablet, you will need a Windows 7 tablet, such as the Archos 9 or the Dell Duo (the Duo being my favored tablet). In the future, there are rumors of Silverlight for Android 3.0--and thus the Motorola Xoom, but for now, a W7 tablet is your only choice. |
