This article was a real let down. It is not a Channel Divinity article, it is a Bazaar of the Bizarre.

This is all they could come up with for Melora? The article is just terrible, I notice it is not listed as a Channel Divinity Article in the archive but a Feature. Seems to me it is neither a feature or a Channel Divinity Article but a Bazaar of the Bizarre article.
None of the items even require you to be a follower of Melora or give a bonus if you are. All the items are just water based, Melora is a god of the wilderness and seas. She has as much to do with deserts as the seas according to her blurb in the PHB. Seems to me that they didn't have they real Channel Divinity Article ready and just rebadged some Bazaar article instead.
Sorry Matthew Sernett, the items themselves aren't that bad, it's just this isn't a Channel Divinity article, and if this is really the state of things to come I can see I'm going to be very disappointed by the new direction things are taking.
That's really quite a let down. I'm a bit sceptical concerning the new short article concept and this article just feeds that sceptism...
90% of anything is crap. The recnt Wizard and Rogue articles were top- notch... we should expect some slack similar to the Power Play Martial as well.
I wouldn't be so critical if it was a poor article that was actually about Melora's religion, but it has nothing but the most tenuous like to Melora, items that have something to do with water? Really. 
What's worse is because we have had this it's less likely that Melora's faith will get a proper treatment anytime soon. The best we can hope for is they buck up their ideas for later Channel Divinity articles.
Absolute crap article for what they're trying to pass it off as. As other posters have said, I would have a lot less of an issue with the article had it been listed as part of the Bazaar of the Bizarre series instead of a Channel Divinity article.
I dunno, that Quenchquiver (I think that was the name) looks pretty cool to me. No ammo needed and a push'n'prone?
Part of me wonders if this remarkably scant Channel Divinity is a direct result of the backlash from the previous one, the Raven Queen, which set of a nerdrage storm on this forum because the article clashed with their personal take on the RQ. Now, instead of saying something and causing controversy and ticking people off, they're saying nothing.

Well, that's the trouble you get yourself into when you assume things about a character with no real firm characterization.
Besides, it's DnD, if the fluff annoys you, CHANGE it.

i don't mind that this particular article only addressed one aspect of her, but it gave so little expansion and fluff about even that. even CD: RQ focused largely on her as a goddess of death and gave little about her as goddess of winter and fate, though it did acknowledge those two.
i hope that this five-day release schedule gets a strong review and the editors look at changes to bring back quality fluffy contents alongside the interesting crunchy stuff.
i'd rather see all the free material being released on Tuesday and Thursday while all the paid content is released on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. they can still have that five-day release schedule, but put more effort into the paid subscription material to make it worthwhile reading.
the items, feats, powers--i'll end up seeing those in a CB update. since there was so little material in the articles, there isn't much to miss out on if i never had seen the articles. but i didn't subscribe to DDI just to keep the CB updated. i really want to have quality reading material in fluffy form.
