There are way too many rules errors and oversights in this article, particularly with the Fighter-Mage.

Page 5: The Teleporter's powers show an extra Daily Attack Power (should total 4 including Elemental Maw, which was moved to Encounter).

Page 5-6: Tide of Iron requires a shield, which precludes the stated desire of using a Wand in the Off-Hand.

Page 7, Col 1: You may not select a Paragon Path if you Paragon Multi-Class.

Page 7, Col 2: The Weapon Focus Feat does not stack with the Eladrin Soldier Feat, as both add Feat bonuses to Damage (though, Racial Feats should add or enhance Racial Bonuses, but that's another thread).

Page 7, Col 2: Warrior's Challenge is a Fighter Attack Power (Lvl 17)

Page 8, Col 1: Heavy Blade Mastery requires 17 Dex.

I'm sure there's more, but those are the ones I've found at first glance.

Yeah, the two I noticed were the mention of a Paragon Path and the weirdness with the Eladrin Soldier feat.

On the other hand, despite the Paragon Path being mentioned, no actual abilities from it are referenced, so it may have been intended simply as an alternate route suggestion. And Eladrin Soldier is even stranger since the character switches to using a Bastard Sword - while there isn't anything wrong with still having the feat, it is completely useless several times over at that point, and clearly should be switched out for something new.

Still, I liked the article over-all, and hopefully these minor problems will be fixed in the final version.

See and that is how MCing should be.

Now there are other problems (like using the wrong names of powers)

Not listing Thunderwave at-will in the recaps though its talked about as being used.

Still to me that is not an OPed character the way its writen.

I must say though, that I would love if the rules where changed to fit the concept and not the other way around, cause this is how a fighter-mage "should" be, if the rules had only allowed it. I could even make my beloved dual-wielding mage...

I have been reviewing this article recently then I noticed at 11th level something strange was going on but the Character Builder doesn't allow this to happen.  I think the rules allow it.  At 11th level the author swaps Sure Strike out for Thunderwave.   I'm thinking he did this because Sure Strike was the extra at-will from being a human.

Do the rules allow this to happen?   In spirit, I think so.  What do you think?

How does one get the character builder to accept it?
