Dragon 365 still full of errors

The compiled version of dragon 365 is out and I've flipped though it really quick. There were some fixes but still a bunch of errors that weren't fixed.

Things I noticed that are still wrong ...

Luckbringer of Tymora's level 20 power is still an encounter power.
The Fighter Mage Character Concepts character is still filled with errors (You can't PP Multiclass and take WotST too)
The treasuers of asheron article still has a number of problems (although they fixed some) Dragon rider armor costs the same as magic armor without abilities, elixirs of dragon breath don't say what type of action the attack is or what defense it attacks and it's not clear if you can breath more than once.

Anyone else notice problems that didn't get fixed?

Can we get an official reply as to what the actual intention of Dragon is, and how they intend to reach that goal?

We here at the forum do 90% of this work for free, so doing the last 10% of actually editing the stuff should be within the scope of a 100-500$ I would think. Not a bad investment considdering the value in PR.

That's really a very poor performance from WotC. For a free product, it's ok. But they actually use these free products to show us what to expect from the product once we pay for it. And thats very unprofessional.
How should we expect to get a high-quality product for our money if the preview is so full of errors?
The fluff articles are great and I don't mind a few errors you could solve by applying common sense. But some errors are so grave that you can't use the magic items, class options, etc.

So please WotC, if you expect people to buy your products, increase the editing quality. I don't even mind if there are errors in the first seperate PDFs each month, but they should be corrected in the compiled version. Just look into these forums and incorperate the corrections suggested by your customers in the final compiled issue. That shouldn't be too hard and even too expansive. I can't imagine that 4th edition has generated such a low income that WotC couldn't pay someone who reads through the articles. The most errors are soooo very obvious...

TBH where does it say that paragon paths have an encounter at 11 and a daily at 20? Just because that's the way it is in most paths, dosn't meen it's the rule.

That said, I assumed the level 11 attack was their daily, and that they still had a daily and an encoutner just at different levels, however I see that the keyword is actually 'encounter' even though the bar is blak.

As for the fighter mage - it dosn't say 'do both', the list of powers later dosn't talk about 'one sword'. I'm presuming that WotST is an option instead of paragon multiclassing as a wizard.

I'm dissapointed to hear there is no update to the Artificer. I can't download dragon at the moment, so I'll take the poster's word for it.

Page 29 has the table, but it's page 28 that has the text.
At 20th level, you learn a new daily power, determined by your paragon path.

I don't know if this is just me, but when I downloaded the full issue, the artwork either had inverted colors or was missing in general. For example, the map for the Cormyr article is completely missing....

Any one else have this problem?

My computer takes a bit to display them properly, but they're still there and exactly the same as they used to be. I'm guessing that for whatever reason your computer is having trouble allocating the resources to display it properly.

I don't think the quality will improve much when pay
Look at the core books, and look at how many "updates" they've already had to put out to fix things. Really, its not that much less than Dragon.

I must admit, the constant updates to pretty fundamental areas of the core rules (like skill D.C.s) is already getting a little irritating. I have already had to go through a whole adventure, tweaking things, and checking that everything is in line with the "correct" rules.

Hopefully, things will calm down soon, both with the magazines and the rule books. Hopefully.

Stealth is going to work a lot differently soon too.

Didn't they say something about there not being a 4.5 because they are going to have everything right from the start?
I laughed when I heard that, and I'm laughing still now. (Admittedly its the same sort of laugh I have when something bad but ironic happens to me.)

I'm all for them fixing mistakes. But I wonder how long it'll be before the "updates" effect the majority of the content in the books? How long is it gonna be before we all have to go out and buy reprints of the books with all the updates included, because it's become too much of a pain to first check the rules on something, and then have to check the updates to make sure those rules still apply?

I know how you feel. I have emailed them about these errors in the Artificer.

Pg 7. Healing Infusion: Curative Admixture
It states it Constitution modifier +6 at 27th level. This should be 26th level to match the increase every 5 levels.

Pg 10. Runic Resistance
In the flavor text it says "hurl sigil-scribed ceramic sphere". It should say "hurl a sigil-scribed ceramic sphere".

Pg 14. Rod of Runic Defense
The items says it is Level 2+, but the costs start at Level 8. Which is right?

Pg 15. Reparation Apparatus
The flavor text says "enhances your ability repair constructs". It should say "enhances your ability to repair constructs".

They replied by saying they will bring it up in the next meeting. However upon seeing the pdf release today it is apparent that our help is falling on deaf ears. How can we help them make a better game when their editing department is either foreign or non-existent? These are obvious mistakes and horrible grammer. Why is nothing being done? I do love the new system but am becoming disappointed at the number of errors and lack of support to fix them.

They can't update the pdfs because they are not allowed to.

Half of WotC is being shipped out to act as sales reps at Gen Con, because everyone (in management) knows Gen Con (and whatever other convention happens to be going on) is much more important than quality products to please the existing fan base (who actually have the highest chance to buy more products if they are happy).

And then they won't fix it when they get back because they can't "go backwards." Pretty sure we're on our own for this.

They are not allowed to? When did this happen? Online newspapers frequently edit their articles with typos, or even withdraw their articles if they are found faulty...

They are not "allowed to" because they are being shipped out for Gen Con instead of being left to do work.

And it just seems to be a fact of life that they will never update past articles once compiled. They still haven't compiled the earlier issues into single pdfs like they said they would, so it certainly seems like there is at least an informal "never look back" policy around there.

Ok if most of their staff is away that's fine. But why post preview articles and ask for our input if they don't make any changes for the final pdf. It's just like they are asking us to be a second set of editors and playtesters so then if we notice errors they should be able to fix them before the compiled pdf of the magazine at the end of each month.

Do you want to pay for something and still have to offer edits and opinions for it to be worth the money???? DO NOT SUPPORT DUNGEON OR DRAGON MAGS TILL THEY HAVE DECENT EDITING.

(drunk but still sober enough to see dungeon and dragon mags arent worth the **** poor paper you will be printing them out on)

It may be decent....but they will expect you to pay for "just decent enough" very soon. Tell WOTC you hate substanderd product by not spending a dollar on DDI.

If the errors aren't fixed before the compiled edition then they become RPGA legal, also they are going to then get transferred to the D&D Compendium with errors, and eventually when it is working the Character Builder.

So the sooner they fix things the better, and the less work involved.

Good thing they got rid of those freeloaders at Paizo. Damn dirty apes stealing from quality WotC products!

To be fair Paizo stuff also had some broken feats and abilities in it, but it wasn't automatically official for the RPGA and it could on be easily corrected with an errata since it was hard copy rather than electronic.
