Dragon 368
Items of Legend

by David Noonan

Artifacts have been a staple of D&D since 1st Edition. Now more than ever before, artifacts can be used safely by player characters. From the strange figurine of an ebony elephant to a helm of untold power, these are rare treasures indeed.

I really liked the chess set in the article. It had interesting flavor and a nice benefit for if you won.

Getting database errors

That's interesting. It was up this morning and I can't get to it now either.

There were some residual issues from the last update that have been ironed out. You should be able to access the articles now.

Still getting the error

Some suggestions if you are still getting the error:

Clear your cache.
Force the browser to load the page from the web, not your cached version. (In Firefox this is done by CTRL-F5)

I believe this issue is resolved. There was a sync issue with one of our servers.

Thanx

I had no problems getting it with firefox. Hm.

This was a good article to me. Aside from the helm I loved all the items. I was actively imagining how each one might be worked into my campagin.

The amount artifacts like levelling compared to other activities really throws me off... but some very cool stuff. I really like all of the all artifacts - I don't think I can swing the helm in any of my current groups, but I might see if I can work in any of the others. Which is definitely different. I'm not usually up for throwing artifacts into my campaigns.

It doesn't really, most the of the things can be triggered 1/day or 1/encounter you will level (assuming about 2-3 encounters/day of average difficulty) every 3-10 days, So its +3 on the dailys compared to +1-+10 and +lots on the encounters.

Why did this article become subscriber only? It was released before subscriptions were released. I wanted to put the chessboard into my campaign I'm running, but I forgot to save the PDF, and now I can't go back and do it because it went subscriber only the day subscriptions went out. No other dragon article that I can see that released before subscriptions has been made subscription only.

What Gives?

The first few months of Dragon remain as a preview for the pay subscription. However all article for this month's issue(with the exception of the Barbarian) were converted to being pay only when the payment system went live. There was an announcement explaining it a while ago, but I forgot where.
