In case, no one has noticed, the crew over at Think Geek ( www.thinkgeek.com ) have a couple of items that might work. They (allegedly) have a large, battery powered d20 die that will flash brightly whenever a '20' is rolled.   They also have a large d20 dice that functions like the old Magic 8 ball of years past. As for an actual cake, have you considered a Gelatinous Cube cake?   Essentially, a large cube of Jello with an assortment of strange objects inside.
