#1 Siberys Jan 09, 2012 23:08:31	Dragon 407 Eye on the Realms: A Surprising Vintage by Ed Greenwood Bottles of new wine from one particular vineyard in Tethyr are yielding up more than just a refreshing drink. The bottoms of more than a few bottles have revealed gold rings, small gems, ornate keys and even sets of lockpicks. Talk about this article here.

#3 pruano Jan 10, 2012 6:47:42	It appears there is something wrong with the code on the site: the box for subscribing DDI that normally appears on DDI subscriber only articles when accessed by non-subscribers is now appearing on a valid subscription account. Tried logging in and out, in two different browsers (firefox and chrome), and the box keeps appearing; the download link is valid and gives correct access to the article, but the presence of the box made think something was wrong (thus the testing above). Are any other susbcribers seeing the box as well?

Or does it just mean that they were paid handsomely to get the heck out of town and now they've given up on trying to figure things out? I was a little confused by the ending...

This is the second "Eye on FR" article in 4 months that's been about freaky wine. Is there nothing else to write about? Lately it seems like these articles have been about minor factions, strange items, and unusual events; all of it fairly trivial. One of the great things about the realms after the Spellplague is the creative room to create a lot of new and exciting worlds to explore, strange monsters to fight, and amazing NPC's to meet. I'm sad to say that I'm not getting any of that from these articles over the past year. The've just felt very flat. I compare this to the great article about the Moonshea's that came out in Dungeon #196. Now that made me excited and want to immediately start up a FR campaign. I know it is much longer than the "Eye on FR" series, but it's the tone and flavor that counts. Am I the only one who feels this way?

Welcome to Ed Greenwood - he have similar problems to Tolkien's, aka overdevelopping the fluff of his world, and a good segment of the fanbase kinda like this - look at Candlekeep.

(snip) I understand Ed has sent in at least a year's worth of articles in advance and the DDi team choose which to publish and in which order. That said, I loved the NPC write-ups and, more particularly, the recent article about a beholder hive and would hope to see more of those rather than these really narrow topics. Let's hope the DDi team start choosing some of the meatier articles in future.

Welcome to Ed Greenwood - he have similar problems to Tolkien's, aka overdevelopping the fluff of his world, and a good segment of the fanbase kinda like this - look at Candlekeep.

I understand Ed has sent in at least a year's worth of articles in advance and the DDi team choose which to publish and in which order.

That said, I loved the NPC write-ups and, more particularly, the recent article about a beholder hive and would hope to see more of those rather than these really narrow topics. Let's hope the DDi team start choosing some of the meatier articles in future.
