Apr 29, 2011 3:34:18 I just want to state my disappointment about the receeding amount of art work in the online magazines.

In previous issues, the compiled artwork was one of my favourite aspect in the mags. Usually, there were between 19 and 27 different pictures in Dragon.

The latest Dragon has 7 pictures with one of them a copy from the original PHB and at least one more from another, previous source.

Along with the horrendous Character Builder (compared to the offline version), lack of compiled issues in PDF files, limited content and near absence of adventures, this is yet another negative development.

I'm still disappointed that they haven't gone back and cleaned up the map archives. The maps with numbers and letters on them are pretty much useless and take time to modify to get them into a usable state. There are several of the archives that still are not packed into one zip file encompassing the entire issue.

Actually they are all there except H3. They just aren't in the order you'd expect when you look at all the art galleries.

Make sure you file a complaint using the customer service system. That's really the only way to get them to fix this problem.

Apr 30, 2011 8:11:40 You're right! I guess since they started with P1 (my mistake, not P2), I missed it in the archive binging. Thanks – though the lack of Pyramid of Shadows art+maps makes me feel angry.

And HS1 The Slaying Stone is also missing! And the Art and Maps for Cairn of the Winter King!

Apr 30, 2011 15:10:43 Art and map galleries are really important to me. I use powerpoint and excel a LOT in my games and I like to put the pictures and maps up on the big screen. I would really like to see these galleries continue as well as missing products be updated. Whenever you find missing galleries, please send a request via customer service to have the problem fixed.

With regards to the art itself, I believe 4e artwork in general has really raised the bar, especially compared to previous editions. The quality of the work is simply superb and up there with the best fantasy art available. In my opinion, the two Dark Sun books have the best D&D art ever done. There have been some recent pieces for Dragon/Dungeon that took my breath away. In particular, the Hanging City is just spectacular as is the Nerathian city.

Thank you for contacting us. Currently there have been no announcements made regarding art or map galleries for The Slaying Stone, Pyramid of Shadows, or Cairn of the Winter King adventures. However, what I have done is escalated your incident to the appropriate parties involved with Dungeons & Dragons and D&D Insider so that we can make them aware that there is a desire in the community for art and map galleries for these adventures. Unfortunately, I cannot guarantee a response regarding this. We sincerely appreciate your concern and feedback on this matter and if you have any additional questions feel free to ask us!

You can bet I'm happy about this, though – they're doing something about it!
