Is it because it's a ranged attack getting bonus damage from Sneak Attack or the fact that it could get bonus damage from either ability? I mean, if it's the latter, I would remind you that it's an encounter power and could do with the extra damage. If it's the former, then just think how nice it will be when you are tucked away in some far-off place within range and you get that extra damage on this one attack. |
| #3hdierNov 24, 2008 16:09:04 | No, you don't understand. The problem is that Darkfire doesn't deal damage, so it shouldn't be getting 'extra damage' from anything. Unless I misunderstood something? |
| #4cruelNov 24, 2008 17:03:59 | the errata and the compendium make quarry/curse/sneak attack damage apply on a successful attack. since dark fire is an attack, if it hits, even tho it hits for 0 damage, the extra damage applies.. this isnt a bug with the builder so much, the builder is accurately applying the rules as written with the current errata accounted for. You'll need to change the sneak/curse/quarry descriptions if you dont want the extra damage ![]() |

| #6UndrhilNov 25, 2008 23:45:12 | That is pretty funny, next time I crit my darkfire roll I"m applying my sneak attack damage to it since it would be maximized..... Strictly speaking, you're supposed to announce using Sneak Attack *before* the attack role... |
| #7ibixatNov 26, 2008 3:25:02 | strictkly speaking, no you're not. PHB pg 117 Sneak Attack Once per round, when you have combat advantage against an enemy and are using a weapon from the light blade, the crossbow, or the sling weapon group, an attack you make against that enemy deals extra damage if the attack hits. You decide whether to apply the extra damage after making the damage roll. As you advance in level, your extra damage increases. Now to be fair since darkfire is not a weapon keyword power it wouldn't be possible, but it was mostly a joke =) Oh and that does make it a bug in the builder, it's allowing the bonus to show where it should not be applicable. |
| #8guts62Nov 29, 2008 13:00:09 | I created a drow ranger and choose the Clutch of Darkness feat. The Cloud of Darkness power card showed range of Close burst 2 but the Darkfire card showed only a range of 10 when it should be a 15. |
